Enter from Deansgate through the corner door into a small narrow bar. There is little room inside for drinkers but there is a large outdoor seating area which when it is sunny - as it was when we were there yesterday - was just sublime....More

Visiting here is like travelling back in time. Lots of original features to the restaurant throughout the building. Absolutely fab menu and portions are generous and all dishes were fantastic. Overall a lovely evening meal with colleagues. I'll be back next time I'm in town!

This place is a gem with its informal and cozy environment. We had some real traditional british food, prepared with care. Staff is super welcoming and nice. They had a smile for us even after the terrible terrorist attack. Thank you.

An interesting building offering a nice selection of real ales, but the meals on offer are pricey for what they offer. Staff seemed tired and it was only 3 in the afternoon. Must've been a busy morning. Worth a visit for the architecture alone.

Haven't visited for several years but wasn't disappointed just as good as ever. Memories of childhood food come flooding back here, even had bread and dripping as a starter. Great beer cellar too.
