Good food, good service, good ambience, good wine. Lightly spiced food such as one might imagine one would get in the Middle East.

First time having Armenian food and it did not disappoint. The place was really nice setting, nice tables and warm surroundings. Staff very nice and seemed like a family business. For the starters we had auberigine rolls and feta cheese filled pastry. Both were amazing!...More

I was excited about eating here and was not disappointed. We had the sharing plater starter which is served on a 3 tier, afternoon tea, type stand. The 3 hot starters where delicious and the 6 cold were crammed with fresh herbs and we excitedly...More

I ate here with a friend. Having no idea what Armenian food involved we ordered the set meal for 2. The starters were yummy with a nice selection of meat and salad options. The carrot salad was really tasty (never thought I'd use those words...More

Cutting long story short you have to go and try it by yourself! Food was amazing and really fresh. Great choice of meats, fish and vegetarian dishes as well as wines/coctails. Waiter was great! Nothing forced on us and the most important (for me) that...More

This used to be a rather dingy downstairs restaurant, although the food was always good. This was our first visit for several years and we were pleasantly surprised by the new décor. Even though it is below street level, the place felt light and airy....More

This restaurant has been a favourite of ours for many years and we visit whenever we are in Manchester. The old decor was quite dark and had become a little dated but it has now been completely renovated and the place looks much brighter. The...More

We have been here a number of times, but this was the first time since it has been refurbished, we had been meaning to, but just hadn't got around to it. Walking in the place now looks very clinical, as previously it looked dated by...More

Went here with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. It's my favourite restaurant in Manchester, it's only biggest downfall is the lack of visibility, hidden in plain site by virgin money. As you can see from my photo from outside, it's basically the last window...More

Description
Since opening in 1968, we have been inviting you to experience our hospitality and wonderful cuisine. We have been serving the same great food for over four decades. Armenia has a very rich culinary culture, with influences from neighbouring nations. Walking down the steps takes you back in time, which is pleasant amongst the bright shop fronts of Albert Square. The ambiance is superb with the warmest use of colour and artefacts. Our home made mezze starters will get your taste buds tingling whilst mains include traditional charcoaled grilled meat`s. Family run since opening shows the passion of the Armenian Tavern with grandma’s recipes and tastes that have been handed down for generations.
