We visited on a rugby weekend (when Gloucester were playing Bayonne in the European Cup) and the table was booked for us by a French colleague, so the restaurant had no idea that a group of English rugby supporters would be arriving. However, once this fact was apparent, our host, Eric, could not have been more welcoming, even though he... More

Good quality Basque speciality food and a very friendly owner who made us feel really welcome. Try the set menus, good value for money and a taste of the Basque region.

Authentic and delicious Basque food. We were warmly welcomed by the chef who explained the menu in depth and with passion, while recommending a great Basque wine to accompany our meal. Our six-year-daughter had a great time and felt very grown-up when the chef carefully asked her about the types of food she liked and took her to see the... More

Great basque cuisine. Very engaging and convivial owner. Very popular so worth booking. Three 'cartes' available with three choices of starter and main. Carte de jour includes a glass of wine.

We crept in just after the Sunday serving times but were welcomed, the staff charming and witty. This is the sort of place that makes you feel comfortable right away. The food was very well cooked and presented without being fancy, hot and freshly made, despite the time. Excellent meal, great ambience and superb value for money. The Basque cake... More

We all enjoyed our food, especially the cafe gourmand. You literally get a bit of everything. The chocolate 'cake' was to die for, the gateau basque just amazing and the creme brûlée was really yummy. The main course was good too. I didn't find the chips to be soggy at all. I recommend the goats cheese salad- very good. Everything... More

This is a nice 'auberge' with lovely food. The fish (truite) was very fresh. De 'lomo' was very tasty. The entrees and deserts are of good quality. The menu of 16,50 is absolutely value for money. The Rioja wine well accompanied the main dish. There were only 2 items why I gave this nice restaurant 'only' 3 stars. The 'cote... More

7 of us dined here. 5 went for the set menu at 19.50 euros and two of our party had steak off the a la carte. Food was delicious (I had lamb). The steak was was fantastic, tender and cooked to perfection. We drank local wine. We had a warm friendly welcome from Eric. Great food, great value. Highly recommended.

TA reviews took us to this spot and we weren't disappointed. Friendly welcome, good local cuisine, generous portions and a good price.

We dined at this small restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews. We hadn't made reservations and they were actually booked, but offered us seating at a picnic table outside and we accepted, along with another couple. We ordered the 16.50 euro menu, which included a salad with warm filo-wrapped cheese on top and bacon (very rich), trout with a potato... More
