What a gourmet delight. The staff were very attentive from the moment we stepped through the door. The restaurant wasvery well laid out, we didn't feel stuffy or cramped. We chose to do the 5 course "Trust the Chef" menu which ended up being about 8 courses from start to finish. The wine list was more than adequate and the... More

We were delighted to discover this restaurant. Not typical brasserie food, more refined with some unusual pairings. Good wine list. Lunch menu excellent value.

I took my wife here for her 60th Birthday. We both had the main tasting menu with accompanying wines. Every dish was well thought through, excellently presented and tasted wonderful. The service was also a delight and the waiters were happy to translate anything we didn't understand. I will return again next time I am in Bordeaux.

We went here for my 60th birthday, and I'm glad we did, because I will have a good memory of the occasion. We went for the five courses with matching wine option. Almost every course was superb- the starter was a little ordinary, but everything else very unusual and played with the taste buds in a good way. The pigeoneau... More

Wonderful restaurant, delicious food, and very kind personnel. Our experience was unforgettable. Highly recommendable for, i.e., special moments. Reservation is needed. Good to know it is expensive but worthy.

We were staying in La Bastide area of Bordeaux and were recommended this restaurant by the local owners of our apartment. Whilst the decor of the restaurant is nothing special, apart from the gas fire which was appreciated in mid-winter when we visited, th experience is really all about the food. The initial service was somewhat slow to get to... More

We were spending a week in Bordeaux and rented a house in the Bastide district which was just three tram stops from the centre, We were looking for a restaurant for a birthday dinner and was amazed when we came across this restaurant just a few streets away and within easy walking distance. For those staying in Bordeaux centre I... More

Spend a thoroughly enjoyable evening in this little restaurant on the other side of the Garonne from the main hustle and bustle of Bordeaux. A short cab or tram ride takes you to this 'restaurant gastronomique' with well thought out and executed dishes. Warm welcome, very good service, excellent food and perfectly matched wines. We had the five course tasting... More

L’Oiseau Bleu lloked interesting on Trip Advisor, so we thought we’d try.I’m glad that we did. The restaurant is in Stalingrad across the river from Bordeaux, so it’s a much quieter predominantly residential area. There is a tram stop nearby. We ate on the terrace, which was pleasant, though as the evening progressed, some more illumination would have been welcome.... More

The menu is not extensive but that is reflected in the originality and detail in the dishes. We started our meal with an amuse-bouche of monkfish tail on a flavoursome pumpkin mousse with a pumpkin seeds, it was a very good start to the meal. For starters I had carpaccio of veal, served with a salted crispbread, pickled and slow... More
