We had dinner at La Scala on our first night in Bergerac and although we enjoyed our meal, felt that the meat wasn't cooked to our liking, my partner had lamb, which was tough and over done, I had duck, which was OK but nothing special. The restaurant was very quiet, even on a Saturday night, with just us and... More

Thought we were going to Le Terroir à L'Autre but were disappointed. Very busy restaurant took ages to get served. Very thin and rubbery lamb chops although duck was nice; draft beer quite fruity. Do not be misled.

I ate here on my first night in Bergerac. I chose the foie gras followed by duck a la confit. As recommended by a passenger on the plane who knows the area well. The duck melted in your mouth. For dessert the creme brulee was exceptional. The restaurant is in an idillic setting staff were very pleasant. I would highly recommend... More

After finishing tobacco musee, went a block uphill to ala Scala for lunch. She had mushroom omlet - delicious. I had salad Perigord. A ton of duck gizzards with all great fresh salad ingredients. Well worth the price.

Located outside beside some flower beds my wife and I had the three course lunch menu with kir for €20.50. My perigourdian salad was very pleasant with gesiers, sliced duck breast and foie gras, nicely dressed and presented, while my wife had a generous portion of foie gras. Main courses were competent and well cooked, with generous desserts. Services was... More

Despite other reviews which we did not read before eating we have no complaints. Service was friendly and attentive, we exchanged jokes with the owner and even when we broke a glass there was no problem. Good foie gras and gizzard salad for entrees, ( Godards a foie gras specialist shop is immediately next door), excellent gambas, ice cream and... More

Worst meal I've eaten in France! That bad! Black, greasy evil looking potatoes, an inedible omelette, a duck which was served in a pool of greasy blood. It was that bad! To top it all we were sat on a table on a slope outside which gave fear that either we or the food could fall at anytime

I thought that I wasn't going to be able to review this restaurant as it seems to have changed it's name to La Table de Terroir but it still says La Scala above in small letters as I can see on google earth. We had a very poor meal here, ham and cheese omelettes with chips and salad. The omelette... More

This is the first poor rating I've given and I didn't expect it to be to a French restaurant. I've eaten in dozens and rarely been disappointed. We ordered the plat du jour and to produce two salads from sitting down to plates on table took 35 minutes. The main course was fine but again took far too long. The... More

4 of us eat here and all had a meal of good portions, well presented and served with a smile. Looks like a family run restaurant in the old part of Bergerac. Good menu and priced very competitively with surrounding restaurants. No credit cards taken so have cash.
