Having driven for a few hours, we decided to make a “quick” lunch stop in the lovely town of Bergerac. With no guides or recommendations of any kind, I let my grastro-angel (- some have a parking angel, mine, a superior type of seraphim, specializes in food AND parking spaces close to restaurants!) lead us. And thus we discovered Moutarde,... More

Exquisite lunch. Vegans catered for, as well as carnivores. Beautifully presented and includes a mise en bouche. Got quite busy and customers turned away, so good to book in advance.

For a restaurant in the heart of the tourist area of Bergerac, we found Moutarde to be reasonably priced, although the wine was a little steep. Two courses for €20 or three for €25, with something for almost everyone and vegetarian on request. The service was friendly and relaxed, with very good English spoken. I would recommend booking if heading... More

My wife and I have eaten in numerous French restaurants. This was superb from the moment we sat down . The waitress was excellent and spoke good English . The food was exceptional and my wife's starter of duck three ways was outstanding . The whole meal was a experience in fine dining . Don't miss this restaurant if you... More

We had a perfect lunch here on the first day of our trip. The Rosetta aperitif was recommended and delicious. The amuse Bouche was a delicious beetroot soup. A simple shrimp salad to start and a delicious main. The service was gentle helpful and attentive. English was well spoken and understood. A lovely find to start our trip and should... More

We have visited this area continuously during the last 28 years, fortunately owning a maison secondaire in Lot et Garonne, just a few kilometres South. Suddenly, this restaurant appeared this year,in the centre of the town, and appealed to us, because of its entertaining menu. The lunch menu is excellent, sensibly restricted to a few really classy and beautifully cooked... More

Excellent cuisine with a twist, such as the fois gras creme brûlée. I found the house red was very good and the price reasonable. This is a quality restaurant with a chef who knows his stuff.

We enjoyed our meal here on a busy Saturday evening. Service was good, the price was right and the food was of a good standard but the let down we found with all of the restaurants we visited in Bergerac was the wine, I'm sure there were some delightful wines but they were all a lot more than we were...
