Traditional French cuisine. This is an elegant restaurant in the suburbs of Rennes serving traditional, high class French cuisine. The cooking is dependable, sophisticated and satisfying, even if it feels like a bit of a throwback to the last decade.

We were there for the Christmas Day lunch and apart of form being asked to half pay in advance, a habit which seems to be on the increase regrettably, we stood waiting at reception for a good while before anyone came to deal with us. Not an auspicious start. Then into a side room where the decor was frankly 'Trumpish'.... More

This gastronomic restaurant lives up to its pride of place among only eight other "Grande Tables" in the North-West of France. If you are visiting France, don't settle for French cuisine when you can experience gastronomy which elevates dining to a high art form from food-sourcing through to presentation (Google Gastronomique or Gastronomy and select 'images' for a visual/virtual feast).... It had been several years we had not returned to La Fontaine Aux Perles and this visit was a delight. We chose the " menu du marché" and we were very pleased. The food was very well presented, amply portioned and very tasty. Service was profesional by a waiter who was very engaged. Overall highly recomended for a gastronomic experience!

Friendly atmosphere, great food, I recommend the crab starter. The park is lovely and the illumination at night is wonderful.

Had dinner at this lovely restaurant. It has nice garden. Interior ambience is okay but not excellent. It seems to be a popular restaurant as it is almost full when we were there. We ordered the salad of langoustine, crab and lobster and the foie gras. Salad was quite good but the foie gras was average. For mains, we all... More

Dining at La Fontaine aux Perles feels like staying at friends' country house, if only my friends were Michelin star chefs :). Rachel and Sophie Gesbert welcome clients old and new with genuine friendliness. The menu is based on authentic local ingredients cooked in Michelin fine dining style. Repeat patrons and visitors from further afield are testament to this hidden... More

Not only does Rachel Gesbert prepare fine and surprising food, he also has arranged to make any lunch a travel accross spices, meats and fishes. Off course, such restaurant can not be your everyday canteen, but the "retour du marche" menu is quite affordable and you will have the exact same service as if you'd taken the most expensive one....
