All around amazing people running the place. I can't say enough good things about our experience. Wine was exceedingly fair-priced, the menu was great, we will definitely be going back.

What a delightful place to eat! This is a small restaurant with great food! I started with the salade lyonnaise and then had the boeuf bourguignon. Both were delicious! We had the French toast with caramelized banana for dessert. I'd go back in a heartbeat! Loved it!

Found this restaurant quite by chance. We were warmly greeted by the mother of the proprietor/chef. Good choice of traditional bistro favourites. We had a superb onion soup and breast of duck with a redcurrant sauce. Great selection of reasonably priced French wines served in a range of quantities and a good wine list too. We'll definitely go back on... More

Loved this place. Really relaxed and chilled and full of locals. It was the name that drew us in but we were disappointed by food, wine and service. Will definitely be back

We went looking for a typical French dinner and we were not disappointed. The bœuf bourguignon was very good served with extra delicious mashed potatoes (no sparing the butter in the potatoes,) I ordered the duck and I am still thinking about the delicious sauce. Again, the potatoes and side vegetables were delicious and the duck breast was cooked to... More

Visted this establishment in 2014 and are pleased that the food and service have stayed at the same high levels. The restaurant is a small, cozy place situated in the Marais district of Paris. Menu has a mixture of local dishes from the Marseilles area, prepared well using fresh, local, ingredients. Service is low key and very efficient. One of two... More

We were staying at the Hotel du Loiret and as usual when in Paris, our happy little group did way too much in the day. Tired and hungry, we opted for Mauvais Garçons- just next door. Like Goldilocks we were looking for just right and found it here. The small room - maybe 32 seats- was lively and animated. That... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
