I read a review in the past year or so about this place and added it to "list" for next visit. This is a wonderful small restaurant. Great food, great wine list, and wonderful service make this a winner. Will be back next year.

Some restaurants can be deceiving. With a location in the heart of chic Paris and a setting to attract, quite a few operators would churn out bland tourist slop. Not so Le Vieille! Every dish was a success, the service was harassed during the busy...More

I'd been tipped to drop by and have a lunchtime meal at Chez La Vielle when we were in Paris in late September. My wife and I, along with our 3 children, were able to secure some seats in the downstairs bar area which no...More

The menu is not extensive, so on my two visits I tried almost everything and all the dishes were outstanding. We ate at the bar downstairs and it was buzzy with mostly French guests. Wine by the glass are interesting and reasonable. The wine list...More

My boyfriend choose this place for my birthday dinner. And I love this place so much. They have very nice wine selection. And the staff there have really good knowledge about wines. The only word I can use to describe their foods is elegant. They...More

While no one can claim to have "discovered" a restaurant generations old and recently reimagined by Daniel Rose, it's a cinch, due to its small size, that not many people can have experienced this tiny jewel two blocks from the old Samaritaine. Here one discovers...More

It is a great pleasure to appreciate this restaurant. The menu is complete and very small as is the restaurant itself. Service is a match to the plates in skill and performance. Oysters. Lentils with Foie Gras. La Bouillion de la Vielle. I did not...More

My husband and I had a decadent lunch here last weekend. Fabulous food! We sat at the bar which I am glad we did as the room upstairs didn't have the same cozy feel. We shared a few too many things: duck terrine, lentils, asparagus...More

Lovely spot with old style bar on the main floor. Up the sloped staircase to a small, but pretty room with 6-7 tables on the second. Limited menu is hard core French traditional. Lentilles du puy au foie gras (fois gras on a bed of...More

This is a small historic restaurant which has been given a new life by an American chef in Paris. The food is unabashedly traditional French. Limited choice of entrees, mains and deserts all well delivered. Everyone at the table appreciated all their dishes. You go...More

It all started with a chef whose nickname was ‘La Vieille’ – ‘the Old Woman’ – though she was only 25. Adrienne was exactly like her cuisine: French and authentic, a real strong temperament. She made a success of Chez La Vieille for more than 30 years. All the spirit of Les Halles remains in the walls of Chez la Vieille and in its recipes. Daniel Rose fell in love with Chez La Vieille the first time he ate there in 2009. Today, under his direction, Chez La Vieille has reopened more joyful and ‘canaille’ than ever.
