The atmosphere is informal, and the ambience small and cosy: I was greeted by the two owners, and when I asked for a moqueca de camarao instead of the moqueca de peixe on the menu, they graciously obliged without demur. This was one of the best moquecas that I've had outside Brazil, and the luscious prawns in a rich orange... More

The caipirinhas were delicious. The menu includes just a few options which are all Brazilian classic dishes. Between 3 of us we all chose different dishes and were all impressed and the portions were generous. The waiter was surprisingly quick to "tutoye" us but he was friendly so we didn't take offence. Although I found a couple of chunks of... More

The restaurant decoration is simple, the owners are nice and polite. The food is good. I think the price for the starters is a bit expensive for what you have in your plate (5-7€) however for the main courses you do have quite a lot. It's a shame they don't have a kid menu or something similar for kids. Paying... More

We spend only 4 days a year in Paris, but we ALWAYS eat here our first day and our last day. We can't get enough of this place! One year we ordered nothing but chicken wings because we love them so. This year we ordered lots of appetizers and we were in heaven. Both Seb and Claudia are really friendly... More

At first, the owners weren't very friendly, and didn't pay much attention to us. But after a while, they started to smile and cheer up.The restaurant is quite small, and loud. However, service was very fast. It was the first time we ate Brazilian food, so we didn't know what to expect. We started with a Caipirinhas cocktail, which was... More

Poor food quality, noisy atmosphere, and arrogant owners. Not recommended. I order and dish that had meat, rice, and little salade. Meat was raw, rice overdone, and salade had brown edges. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant where everything, said the owner, is "home made".

I've visited Brazil and I have to say, the food was nothing like I had in Brazil. It was definitely a frenchified version of Brazilian food. I'll start with the appetizers, we had the assortment of fried everything, crab claw, chicken and something akin to hush puppies with cheese. Let's just say this was the highlight of our meal. Who... My boyfriend and I went to Brazil in Feb 2011 and we fell in love with the country. We wanted to see if you could replicate the experience in Paris and we found this excellent place, the food was delicious and it fills you up! The wife of the owner wasn't there, however Sebastien, who speaks fluent Portuguese was extremely... More

Sorry to disagree with the other reviewers, but having traveled many times to Brazil and in fact owning a home in Brazil, this place is a joke. At first glance the drinks are fairly priced until you taste them and realize that there's virtually no cachaca in the drink. I asked for more cachaca and she obliged... but really, should... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
