We stayed across the alleyway from this little gem, and went here for dinner more often than not. It's a locals place, sometimes overflowing with Parisians, and small, making it an authentic experience. The food is solidly delicious and classic, the table wine is above average, and the prices are reasonable. Make it a go-to place for a great meal.

Lovely little street café close to Notre Dame, Pompidou centre and the vintage shops. Try the salmon salad with a nice carafe of wine!

Though this restaurant is located in a very central location, we had a disappointing dinner. I ordered a chicken and it was quite dry and tasteless. A beef that was asked to be cooked medium came out burnt, dry and with an awful flavor. Most of the dishes we ordered were below average. There were no English menus available but... More

Cozy and warm with a lovely terrage giving on a pedestrian street. We had Entrecote with fries. The fries were home made and the meat very tender. The salad dressing is home made too. Nothing industrial was on our plates. The waiters are friendly, smiling and very quick. Great stop for a parisian lunch!

This restaurant is very close to where we stayed- we went past it many times before deciding to stop for dinner. The menu is all in French (no English version available) but the waiter was kind enough to translate it for us in English. We ordered several entrees, all of which were good (the roast chicken was a bit dry... More

Found this restaurant late at night after wandering the Marais district. Menu in French, most of the people French, but whatever! Weren't disappointed. Duck was delicious, desserts very tempting. Good service - the waiter nicely excused my smattering of badly pronounced French and explained the menu in English!! Good value and nice meals.

My boyfriend and I found this on tripadvisor and decided to have my birthday dinner there. The bistro is very nice, with an authentic feeling, it sort of felt like a big gathering of friends. The menu was very charming, designed like an old newspaper, and had a broad selection of dishes. The food we got was wonderful, the chicken... More

We used to live in Paris and now visit regularly. We often boasted that one cannot have a bad meal in a Paris restaurant, but we can't say that any more after lunch today. Our Parisian friend selected this restaurant where she has dined several times. Three of us had the poulet roti, one with frites and the other two... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
