A very popular restaurant and we were glad we reserved a table for the Saturday evening even in rainy March as many were turned away. menu in English but its not complicated. Fixed price for 22 or 30 Euros. Would recommend for 2-4 but it is a small restaurant for larger parties. Candles and tableclothes, eclectic interior, decent food and... More

The French fare on offer was consistently good , although perhaps not memorable but the overall dining experience was excellent. This is an interesting small old building with friendly staff ( in the traditional French way) with excellent value fixed price menus. The one I had included 3 courses, coffee and a glass of champagne for 30E. My wife and... More

The food generally was good. However, even after having made my allergies known to the staff, I was given food which contained an ingredient I was allergic to. Yet, it was a comfortable dining experience, thanks to the cosy establishment.

This was our favourite meal in Paris. Although the restaurant is located in a very touristy area, the quality of the food was really excellent. We'd a lovely glass of champagne to start and very fresh seafood for the main followed by a delicious chocolate fondant - good French home cooking. Great menu with plenty of choice. Attentive and engaging... More

This is a cracking little restaurant with super atmosphere and some very fine French home cooking. Mains included salmon filet cream and basil, Atlantic codfish loin with Normandy sauce and flank steak gratin with Saint Marcelin cheese, all for under 20€. Not fine dining perhaps but just as pleasurable and only 5 minutes walk from Hotel Monge. We also ate... More

I have to say we had our worst meal in Paris here. We had walked passed it and decided we would go there for our last supper in Paris as it looked really nice. We were disappointed with our dinner and we had a very strange waiter who left a bad taste in our mouths. We didn't stay for dessert.... More

So the French poet Verlaine died here! However, what counts today is the quality of the food, which is considerably better than most of that of its neighbours (small premises, inadequate kitchens, too many tourists who won’t be returning etc). Here, they really try, for example allowing us to compose our own ‘prix fixe’ by combining elements from different menus.... More

Excellent food. Had the fixed price menu and couldn't fault it. Snails were the best we had locally as was the tarte tatin. Service attentive but not over the top, ambience was great, restaurant was full. Need I say more.

My boyfriend and I stopped at this place because it was close to our hotel and because the reviews, and it did not disappoint! I had the salmon slab and he had the filet beef, both were amazing! We also had the lamb with our salad, chocolat mousse, and apple tart, which were all great. The waiter was super friendly... More

We were 3 rd time in this nice restaurant at Rue Mouffetard. We had escargots, beef and fish. All of them were excellent. The staff-including Dimitri - are all professionals with good sense of humour.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
