Looking for somewhere to eat after visiting the Basilique up top, decided to come here since the menu looked decent and there were plenty of people in the restaurant. The owner obviously could tell we were tourists and tried very hard to be very friendly, offering us drinks etc. There wasn't a lot of English on the menu so I... More

We stopped in here for lunch one day on our way to La Grande Epicierie. I ordered the Croque Monsieur and my husband ordered the Croque Madame. OMG!! These were absolutely delicious!! They also came with a little side salad, with a yummy dressing. The house wine was very good as well. All in all, a delicious, cheap, filling lunch.... More

I went here twice in a row, first with a friend and the next day for lunch on my own. Both times, we were greeted cordially and were made to feel part of the regular crowd. When I find myself in Paris again I will definitely visit it. Highly recommend it!

We tried this place while we waited for one our of group to visit Sacre Couer and we were pleasantly surprised! Two of the party had croquet monsieur and I had the ham and egg salad with a side of fries. All meals came with a good salad on the side and were substantial. We had a pot of wine... More

A little step back to the 70's, friendly, clean resting spot. A nice place to watch the locals and tourists interact.

Had a snack lunch, the place was filled with a combination of locals, workmen and tourists, which made for a good atmosphere, all the food was tasty, (but basic) good service, good value for money

I was there around 5:30 t & they told me I could only have a sandwich. Dinner wouldn't be available until later. I had wanted the Basque chicken so I settled for a jambon (ham) sandwich. It was made with a dried ham, I'm not fond of dries ham. This made my meal just OK.

If it's late at night and other places to eat have shut down, you can go here and have a good priced sandwich and something to drink (non-alcoholic or otherwise). It was a bit cold though, heat was probably leaking from the entry door or somewhere else.

Good ribeye and spaghetti. Great prices. Reminiscent of an American diner. Our waitress was very attentive and kind. I would return to Les Oiseaux for service and food I can count on when wandering around Paris.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
