Friendly, attentive service in this small, comfortable, sparkling space. The food was absolutely delicious: white asparagus served beautifully, and a beef dish that I had only dreamed of. Friendly chef came up to say hello and receive homage from our table. A delightful experience which we returned to for more. Highly recommended.

A cosy (42 covers) romantic bistro type eatery. The food is European with an Asian twist. The menu is short and well thought out creative and all delicious! Service was efficient and fun and well suited to the young and buzzy crowd who filled the place on the Saturday night we visited. Wine list is on a blackboard and surprisingly... More

We chose this restaurant due to the high grade and good comments but the food was a huge deception: lamb was undercooked, chicken was not up to expectations, the bread was burnt and desert was way to simple for such a price. The restaurant is overestimated on all websites there are much better restaurants which offer the same price range... More

We found this place by accident and as luck would have it there was a table available. The place was really relaxing, the staff great! The man who greeted us and explained the menu was seemingly in a rush with all the tables but he could not have been friendlier. We both had the 3 course menu, with a starter... More

This fine small bistro is just as good as its next-door neighbor Invictus, which is high praise. We were the only Americans among the attractive French patrons. Small but excellent menu and wine list. Homemade pate, chicken, aged sirloin, great fries, to-die-for chocolate cremeuse. Generous portions as well.

My wife arrived promptly at our 7:30 reservation time to find we were the only guests. A couple who came in about 5 minutes later without a reservation was told there would be a 45 minute wait even though all the tables except ours were empty. By 7:50 we knew why; the place was fully occupied with a variety of... More

Moustache is just about two blocks from the hotel in which we stayed, the Jardin le Brea Hotel on, not suprisingly, Rue Brea, and so was an easy walk when we had no desire to yomp about the city for dinner. We ate early with a ressie at 7PM. The place was empty on Saturday night when we arrived but... More

Perhaps we had too high expectations but it was nothing of the special time we wished to have there. The chef, I believe, or the owner, not sure, showed a genuine care for us and our food. That was what we liked most.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
