Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by in the evening with a tasty drink. Good efficient service by polite staff.

We came along this place while walking from Notre Dame to the Luxembourg Gardens and stopped for lunch. We had a mixed cheese and ham platter and bruschetta with tomato and mozzarella and enjoyed it very much. Service was a bit too laid back.

I usually comme to this place to have a snack or a drink on sunny days. This is one of the only "terrasse" in Paris where the sun is there all day. I wouldn't recommend it for lunch as they don't have much choice for food. I came last year around 3pm and they have many snacks a la carte... More

Don't be put off by its terrific position. It doesn't cost an arm or a leg and in fact it really is quite reasonably priced for a very French meal. I loved the omelette and chips and Becky devoured a steak. And the best thing? It is as if this busy, buzzy place invented the art of people watching. Try... More

The Cafe L'Odeon is located caddy corner to the Luxemburg Gardens and take reservations starting at 7 p.m. the tables are spaced apart in a more 'american' fashion and for a nice date night, the prices were at a moderate level. All the food I got here was amazing. The atmosphere was subtle and great for conversation. I plan on... More

Service was excellent, sitting in the square was nice, portions were American sized but out of the 11 of us at our table everyone was either disappointed or unimpressed by the food quality. Someone else mentioned cafeteria food and that is accurate.. I wish I'd read the reviews before agreeing dine at this cafe. Considering the price I do not... More

A colleague and I met up here after a long day travelling for work, and thought we'd move on to a restaurant, but we liked it so much we stayed for food. Great sharing platter and lovely wine. Outside tables in this lovely 'place' made the most of a great evening. Staff are great - informal and really friendly service... More

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
