For an American, this was the "French Cafe" we expect to find. Cozy, small tables, friendly staff (thanks Roberta from Italy!) and the selections, and wine, were good. I had "pig cheeks" which were fall-apart tender and delicious. After 3 weeks to do this review, we can't remember what my wife had. Therefore it was not particularly memorable! The food... More

Went here on a Saturday night after being directed here by their neighbours which were fully booked. Luckily they had 1 table for us. I have to say it's been a long time since I've had this friendly and polite service. Also the English of our waitress was perfect! We had a main dish and shared a dessert, all was... More

“A nice (really nice) little place in Montmartre...” 5 of 5 bubbles Pending review My wife, over the years, always wanted to eat here. And I sort of put my feet against the wall and pushed back. I finally gave up. And, wow, was I wrong and was her intuition right on. This is an unassuming place but our meal... More

To be fair, the food was great, however the service did not match the food taste at all. We got our table about 10 min late, and after ordering the food was ready 35min later. The waiter was ok, but the waitress was not friendly. Overall the service need to be improved.

The staff very very friendly and it created a great atmosphere. The food was traditional and tasty. I am allergic to egg, wine and dairy and they were took this into consideration and made me a wonderful meal. I would recommend booking ahead as it is a small restaurant.

This was our second visit to this restaurant and once again we left having had a fabulous evening. Whilst our first visit had been on spec, this time I had phoned to book for a Saturday evening and were very glad we had as with only about 30 covers, by 8pm gests were being turned away. We started with salmon... More

Fine cuisine. Small restaurant with very good menu. The service was very good. the table we ordered was not available on time. We had to wait about 20 - 30 minutes, but i=we were glad we did not leave. Very recommended.

We had a really nice three course dinner at La Vache et Le Cuisinier. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked lamb and an interesting rabbit dish for main and a sinfully tasty dessert! For Paris it was also very resonably priced. The place was packed, but we were lucky to get a table after 20 minutes waiting at the bar.... More

We were very lucky to find a table at this place. Timed it just right. The restaurant is small and cosy and a lovely place to stop for dinner. The ratatouille starter was fantastic, and then we had the rabbit and beef entrecote. Both were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful even though there were only two serving everybody.... amazing food and staff! Just a shame they didn't have duck on the menu the night we went. Staff was very observant and accommodating as we wanted a quicker service that night to make it on time to the moulin rouge show! Will definitely come back again :)

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
