Nice welcome, with a cute and cozy decor. Menu is a classic brasserie menu, with a good choice of salads, however the caesar salad my daughter ordered was tasteless and soggy with a mixture of water and dresssing of some sort. Ordered roasted chicken with fries; the chicken was good but the fries were cold. Must have been an off... More

Such a gorgeous cafe with beautiful food and friendly service. This ended up becoming our local when we stayed here in Paris. Would highly recommend

What a charming café right near the Plaisance Metro station. For a few Euro, we enjoyed fresh coffee, tartines and croissants. So good we came back the next day for more!

We had 2 French breakfasts consisting of croissants, jam, fresh bread, coffee and orange juice. A simple but enjoyable selection :)

Stopped in for pre-dinner drinks, but won't return! Happy Hour drinks were very expensive! Ridiculously so! So at least the owner would have been happy!

Our family of four stumbled upon Le Cafe Chineur tonight. We had exceptional service and a fabulous meal. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and informative. The foie gras and escargot were amazing, and the duck confit was succulent. Even our kids had a wonderful meal, catered perfectly to their taste!

I'm sure the drinks are fine here, but the food is lousy. Salads were of poor quality and mushy. The burgers were basically raw inside when told to be cooked medium. Overall not a very good dining experience for a four star cafe.

My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant when we got into Paris late on a Sunday night and nowhere else was open to eat. It was near our hotel, so we decided to give it a try and very glad we did. We had the homemade beef lasagna and the chicken, both of which were exceptional. The service was... More

Visited twice to this Restaurant in late July whilst on Holiday in Paris. The first visit was fine and had no real complaints. How-ever on the second visit some of the food received was very poor (might just have been lucky on the first night), in fact make that terrible. We had Moules Mariner which was barely eatable and the... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
