Nicolas wine shop maintains the tradition of wine trade in Bercy. While adding a limited but interesting offer of traditional meals. We had once a pleasant lunch on the quiet garden at the back of the restaurant. Cold cuts and cheese platter, rump steak skewer...with roasted potatoes, veal chop a la plancha with zucchini gratin. Of course a large selection of wines by the glass. We were advised to choose a Patrimonio rosé and a Pecharmant red. Both well matched with our dishes.More

Each time I come to Paris I will stop off here to have a great bottle of wine. A great selection to choose from. If you want you can sit on the bustling center walkway in Bercy Village, or choose the quieter outside on the...other side of Nicolas. Of course inside is a place where you can relax quetly after a busy day.More

It gets worse and worse... Don't ever think having a meal here... The only good thing is to have a drink... Drink your bottle and run away ! They are disrespectful, they don't give a penny on your opinion and the feedback you give them......Pass your way... 10 meters from this restaurant you can have a good meal at "Chez Bruno"... Keep it in mind: have a bottle of wine, it's the right place... Having a good meal... Pass your way...More

One of the worst meals I have ever had. Cold, bland soup with soggy croutons, tough beef for the main course, staff all looked depressed, meat had to be returned to be cooked as ordered. More expensive than other local restaurants. Will definitely not be...returning.More

The place is nicely designed, it has a part where you can sit in a small garden and a view of the whole complex. Wines are sold in a dissent price, and leaves a taste for more..

The only remark we kept on making was: what a waste, this could be such a nice place. Nicolas is a little wine bar with a limited menu. Situated on a very quaint street in Bercy village. Wines are actually quite nice.We were at Nicolas...on a Friday evening. We had a nice cheese platter and a meat anti pasta. All pretty good. It is not always easy to get the attention of a waiter. But the thing we really did not like was the unfriendly ambiance. Lighting was terrible, tables all on top of each other, walls were ugly. So unnecessary.More

This is the best place to eat at the Bercy Village, as far as I know. We ate outside and had a great time. My food was wonderful and the service was excellent. Sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere.

Staff were inattentive and gave no welcome, despite the fact that there only 2 other couples present. There was a cold, bad atmosphere and they were arguing amongst themselves. Advice regarding food and wine was poor and selection of wine was very limited - and...this in Nicolas!!! Although clean (including the toilets), we would not visit here again after this experience.More

Over the last 10 years I have visited the Nicolas Restaurant in Cour St Emilion in connection with my frequent stays in Paris. Normally a very good experience. However not this year. I made a reservation over the phone for Monday 21 July for me...and some old friends and this service was excellent. Arriving at the wine bar at around 8 pm there were apparently no waiters around. A woman dressed very casually turned out to be in charge and another female dressed somewhat inappropriate was in the role of waiter. None of these spoke or understood English over and above a very basic level. After some confusion about ordering due to language issues not normally found in Paris anymore we finally got our orders through and was tabled outside the building. The attitude was certainly not friendly, something I do not recognise from previous years. It was more like stressed and anxious. We ordered a bottle of Champagne (Bollinger) to accompany our starters. The first plate came and with it the bread which normally is good quality in Paris and France. The bread we got was day old and got replaced after complaining off course but after very long time and without any excusing remarks at all. The message we got was: the bread is old - as if we did not know already! We got our main meals with a bottle of Aloxe-Corton wine. The mannerisms by the person in the role of waitressing was terrible but the food and wine was good. A visit to the toilet - only one for the whole restaurant - gave memories of public toilets visited in a beer hall. Water (?) all over the floor and paper rolls wasted all over the place - more unsatisfied customers ? After that we ordered coffee and a glass of Calvados. After waiting for a very long time we got the coffee and some liquid that tasted like poor grappa. I complained inside and the casually dressed woman took the calvados bottle, took a sniff and looked at me saying this calvados is fine (do you not know the bouquet…?). I gave her my glass and after having had a sniff she addressed the so-called waiter and understood that we had been served some inferior product. After some while she came to our table outside and informed that we had been given whisky (?) - if this is true it is the worst whisky I have ever tasted. Again without any excuse we got our calvados. After that we asked for the bill. We got it and payed and from the restaurant we got the usual phrases - please come again, have a nice time in Paris... My question after having frequented your wine bar over more than 10 years is: What went wrong: Why were there not proper waiters Why was the bread day old Why was the toilet not cleaned on a regular basis How come one can get whisky or whatever it was served instead of the ordered calvados in a Nicolas wine bar without even the slightest hint of excuses. All of the above was addressed to Nicolas but they did not bother to answer.More

Nicolas is normally a wine shop, but in this instance in Bercy Village they have attached a restaurant to it and they have done a wonderful job of it. A great selection of wines, as you would expect and some very nice meals. I opted...for the bavette echalote and it was wonderful with a glass of red wine. The only thing missing a little was a focused service. At times the service team were everywhere and at others they were nowhere to be seen or found.More
