I invited my mum to a cheese platter for her birthday and had mentioned the reason for our visit in my email to Morgaine before (when I booked a table). Matthieu served us a delicious selection of 10 different cheeses, explained everything and in the end they even surprised my mum with a piece of cheesecake and a burning candle... More

I heard of l'Affineur affine on trip advisor a few years ago, and was finally able to visit this little gem during my most recent trip. It is not far from Montmartre and l'Opera, if you're in that area you can most likely walk to the shop. When we arrived, they asked if we had reserved, which we hadn't, but... More

Me and my partner went here for lunch on a visit to Paris. We had the 10 cheese tasting plate, and a bottle of red. The man who looked after us was really helpful and obviously knowledgeable - both in terms of the cheese being served and the wine to compliment. He also asked if there were any styles of... More

I am so glad I reserved a table here. My husband, daughter (13 years old) and I enjoyed the 15 cheese plate, a bottle of wine, a soft drink, and cheese cake for under 80 euros. Being a vegetarian it is hard to eat well in Paris but I was beyond thrilled with this small shop and the two owners.... More

For after work, or like me someone looking for a light early evening meal before heading to a museum, l'Affineur was the perfect choice. I enjoyed a Serrano ham plate that I would say was the best sliced ham I have ever eaten. Paired with a glass of good red wine and hearty break, this was just what I wanted.... More

We were recommended here by a family member and it did not disappoint. Staff knew their cheese and wines exceptionally well. We had the 10 cheese board, the cold meat platter and wine, all of which were delicious.

Great food and great experience. I had no clue what to order but the 2 people working helped me navigate the menu and presented me with the best cheese and meat plates I've ever had. Cannot wait to go back!

Simple service but great choice of cheese, with expert comments. Fine selection of ham, saucisson, chorizo and the like. Short list of carefully selected wines. The broad selection is also available for retail, as long as the restaurant is open, i.e. after most shops have closed.

A nice cheese shop with more than 90 references, grocer's products and obviously a nice selection of wines. A tasting area where you can enjoy homemade tarts, "tartines" and cheese plates with a glass of wine. Here the most important are products which are selected with great attention by two young passionate.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
