Went for a quick bite, not knowing this belonged to Intercontinental Grand. We had 2 starters and 1 salad, 2 deserts and a bottle of wine. Nothing extravagant, but price was well over 140€, a tad too much. I agree food was outstanding and prepared fresh, still we felt we overspent. Coming from Switzerland, that's a real statement. I would... More

We had dinner here and the steak was ways under cooked. We let the staff know and the steak came over cooked the second time. Fish and chip were great, though. Staff was nice and helpful Well decoration.

Had a nice lunch with the girls all getting something they loved. The Croque-Monsieur was a hit with the girls a long with the best fish and chips. I enjoyed the Ceasar salad with chicken but the star my husband say was the martini. He loves a place that know how to make a good martini. Very pricy but locations... More

There is no place that shouts Paris and France more than the Cafe de la Paix set in the bustling heart of the city. Opulent decor is backed by very reasonably priced bijou menu to tempt meat eaters and those other types equally. Try and leave a little room for a cafe gourmand.

After the Galaries Lafayette and Printemps closed I stopped to have a dessert here at 9:30 pm before returning to my hotel. Seated right away. The enticement was the architecture and décor - 19th century chic. The Christmas decorations added a nice touch too, (photos). It was a wonderful experience although an expensive one for an éclair and a non-alcoholic... More

Nice waiter, food was good... with no wine, 1 main course and 1 desert came out at 85 Eur per person... a bit extreme for the experience... we had no chance to sit down before 12:00, shall wait exactly 7 minutes for a 12:00 lunch... price would dictate a more "flexible" treatment...,

Is a nice cafe, but very expensive and the service wasn't conmesurate with the price you are paying. You can have at least a cup of coffee to have the experience

We've heard so many good things about this place. We got rude service, bad coffee. Attitude everywhere. The environment is very chic and glamorous but you expect more when you pay 9€ for a cappuccino and you get it like this, and with a cookie in a plastic case.. The cream disappears instantly. We don't mind paying 9€ in a... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
