Really average in my opinion the dishes were globally disapointing the truit was simply ok, the bar was fine but the chocolate sous was below average. The price are really acceptable and the staf was ok.

Consistent inventive cuisine, beautifully-presented by professional servers who make us feel welcome. We've dined here about a dozen of times over the years and will continue to return. Very modern cuisine, a luxury feel, yet it's a relaxed atmosphere. Good central location. One of our all-time favorites.

To celebrate our anniversary, we had dinner here and decided to choose the "menu degustation" consisting of 6 courses each, with 2 glasses of wine paired with the first and second 3 dishes! The serving staff informed us the dishes would be a surprise but, at the end of the day, they were mostly dishes found in the season' s... More

Went here with colleagues for a business dinner, and we were well welcomed by the staff, who made a good effort to accommodate the fact that some of us did not speak French. The wine we were served was really excellent, and the food was superb. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who is in the area. As I... More

Great place for a business lunch in Paris. The menu offers a choice of 5 starters, 5 main course and 5 desert , for 30 to 38 euros per head. The cuisine is creative, the presentation on the plate is always beautiful and the wine list offers good value for money.

All the pattern of modern voidness, trying to pretend 'fusion cuisine', surrounding decoration to please the many but nothin succesfull in your plate these kind of food and restaurants are sprouting all over the world, harming not only good traditionnal cuisine but also the real succesful innovator One wonder so many wonderfull plates of the French ,Turquish,Chinese cuisine are disappearing... Great and warm service led by Anne-Sophie. Inventive and delicious starters and entrées. Light and tasty desserts. We come as neighbors in this restaurant and are never disappointed.

I have to confess i had high expectations when i was invited by a client to this restaurant. The reviews were certainly positive and the menu showed creativity and flair with unusual ingredient associations. In the end, I found the meal lacking (rabbit starter, pork rib). The food was consistently overcooked, the surprising associations fell flat... Only the dessert was... More

We had dinner during the week. The restaurant was not too busy and the room pleasant. The food is very well prepared, tasty and original. Portions however are small and you will definitely leave hungry if you do not take the full 3 course dinner which is priced at 38 euros. One out of two dishes on the menus have... More

On the advice of friends, I decided to celebrate my birthday in this restaurant during my stay in Paris. What a good idea! We had booked in advance for 8 people and got a special degustation menu. That included 7 courses, that were just simply perfect. I could compare the food quality to a michelin star restaurant but without the... More

Le Caf Moderne restaurant in Paris opposite the old Bourse what a lot of fun with what a lot of style. Just like it says on the sign, this is a brilliantly modern, chic caf with classic colours of cream-coloured walls, burgundy banquettes and upholstery, tables dressed in white and a constantly-changing array of artworks by exciting new artists. The bar area is dressed like a wine cave, with wooden wine crates standing in for side tables. Wines are passionately tested, scrupulously stored and enthusiastically offered here on Monday nights great wines are sold at cost, an incredible bargain. The menu is both classic and modern, with dishes like roast veal with mushroom fricassee and sage jus. Lunchtimes its heaving with bankers and heavy hitters, but much quieter in the evenings.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
