Honestly this restaurant is a mess. The racial appropriation and commodification of ‘asian culture’ is unbelievable for today’s society. The food is mediocre at best. Maybe in the early 2000s this was an acceptable restaurant, but it’s 2018! The place is an embarrassment for Paris....More

The glass roof is truly spectacular, and the stark inspired missko decoration as well. The bar downstairs isnt bad either. The issue is that even if you reserved a table, you still end up waiting 2 hours for a table. Even if you had told...More

One of my favourite restaurants in Paris. Amazing setting. Good food, decent portions. Make sure though you make a reservation for the main room upstairs. The room in the back is nothing like the main one. In fact, it happened once that we were late...More

I heard a lot about Kong from friends before visiting and how great they thought it was... on arriving on the 5th floor it was chaos from the word go. We had to wait 10 minutes squashed up against other diners whilst the lift kept...More

This is one of the hyped restaurant in Paris. Located in a glass bubble on top off the roof with fantastic views. Our food was absolutely well cooked and tasted good. But the service... Was stressed and didn't reach up to rest of the standard....More

It is much more of a place to see and be seen rather have a good meal. You pay for the fancy spot and beautiful people around. I would have had better meals for the price I paid. I ordered the spicy tuna and it...More

Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris,
Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but
the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it
houses the main shopping mall, which nestles
underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and
international restaurants coupled with beautiful

A lift can go on the 6th floor. The stairs are used mostly to access the floor above the bar but the elevator can be used for wheelchair.

Bold, new and spectacular, the KONG was born on May 26th 2003. From the kitchen, decor and music, nothing was left untouched to ensure the success of this UFO that landed on the rooftops of Paris. Laurent Taieb dreamt up this creation, he hardly slept and still doesn't, in order to ensure the smooth running of his beautiful machine. From the very beginning, he has always been accompanied by his faithful talented team. 10 Years later, the daring and hard work has paid off with friends and success waiting in the wings : Philippe Starck took care of the decor, Richard Pommies, the kitchen, Beatrice Ardisson, the decks, and finally Ara Starck, the paintbrushes ! The atmosphere of the KONG bar entwines both the intimate character of a cocktail bar with the refinement and elegance of a luxury hotel bar. KONG infuses a mixture of a relaxed and elegant, classy and entertaining, lively and friendly atmosphere. On the 5th floor of a Haussmann building, every window boasts a different view: the Pont Neuf, Henri Sauvage's Art Deco design of the Samaritan building, Art Nouveau by Frantz Jourdain, the Seine, the Louis Vuitton HQ... On May 26th 2013, KONG was renovated, restored, refurbished and restyled to celebrate a decade of success and to enjoy the next decade in style and of course, good company.
