Recently went to this cafe for dinner. It was packed but we managed to get a seat on the patio. The food was excellent: fois gras, the duck breast with pokenta and asparagus salad. The service was ok, but not overly friendly or helpful. I am finding this to be the norm in Paris, so I don't let it detract... More

We visited this spot on our last night in Paris and it was an easy walk from our hotel near the Opera Garnier. It's in a cozy neighborhood nook with a few other brasseries. Two men, who both spoke decent english, split up serving responsibilities for our table and were always around when we needed them. We ordered 3 courses... More

Two nights ago my wife and I dined at L'Absinthe in Paris. We had lunched here in July last year and our re-visit confirmed how good this restaurant really is. The menu is not extensive but easy to understand and our meals were delicious. I had a Japanese style soy baked cod and it was excellent. The service was friendly,... More

Amazing service (with a great sense of humor) , cozy atmosphere, great food. The menu is not big, but has a good choice and easy to read. Plus they have always some special starters and main dishes of the day. For lunch I sow here many locals, for dinner also tourists. But the place is always full. I come here... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel manager and we weren't disappointed. The waiter showed us to a table promptly and spoke excellent English. He showed us the specials for the day, but we couldn't go past the Burgundy-style small snails. They were amazing! I followed up with the slow cooked brisket and my wife had the roasted duck breast,... More

On the advice of our hotel concierge we dined at this restaurant just this evening. It's a very busy place - both with tourists and locals, too. The staff is very personable and professional, and didn't seem to mind that we speak little French. We asked for recommendations and were very pleased - my daughter enjoyed the white asparagus starter... More

Nice athmosphere and location. Starters were ok and as a main dish my Black Angus was very well slowly cooked. The sauce and mash patatoes were very basic and not a lot of taste. My partners 'special of the day' lobster pasta was very disappointing and way to much cream was used and spoiled the taste of the dish. With... More

My wife and I had lunch here and were impressed by the menu but especially by the quality and sophistication of the fare in every respect. Wonderfully subtle, creative combinations of surf & turf. Also excellent suggestions for wine pairing. I would guess that this is one of the finest restaurants in St-Malo.

After sightseeing in the morning, a few glasses of wine and a long walk we stumbled across this restaurant. We were offered a table straight away. The place was lovely and clean. We sat right under the big wall clock and the waiter was very helpful when taking the order as we don't speak French. I Had langoustine ravioli for... More

Description
L'Absinthe is a "bistrot de cuisinier", a cooks' bistrot, firmly modern. The menu is entirely created, tested and produced in the restaurant's kitchen. Every single task from the slicing of vegetables to the seasoning of sauces including the filleting of fish, is executed in situ from A to Z. Each dish conveys the creative family spirit at the rate of the seasons and inspired by their different journeys around the world.
The restaurant's interior design will also make you feel this travelling and dynamic atmosphere: you will eat in setting which is a mix between a typical Parisian bistrot and a loft in New York.
