I hadn't eaten here for 15 years. It still beautiful and romantic . The service is pure gold - friendly, warm, helpful, attentive and without formality or stuffiness. The food is for this writer, the best there is. I have never had anything there that I didn't remember years later, superb without any unnecessary complexity, imaginative without being silly or... Set in the beautiful pl. des Vosges. An oasis of beauty. The service is excellent with a warm welcome upon entering. The food is superb with special attention to each guest. Wonderful desserts. It is so very worthy of its Michelin stars as it has excellent setting, service, food and wine.

This was my second visit to l'Ambroisie, and a far more convincing one than the first. The chef earned his 3 stars decades ago as has stayed true to what made him famous. Do not expect the most modern or creative touch, but well-proven timeless classic cuisine very well executed. It is extremely pricey and one could argue that more... More

Its simply best restaurant in the world. Of course if you are prepared to learn about it and of course pay for it. Chocholate tart is on menu for 30 years and is still without comparison on the entire world.

A three-star experience...I'll leave it at that. Not cheap. The best bottle of champagne I'll ever have. Flawless service. The food is delicious. One of the best meals ever.

My favorite Three-starred-restaurants are Epicure and L'Ambroisie. I recommend Epicure for EVERYONE. As for L'Ambroisie, I recommend this restaurant for connoisseurs of excellent food epicure. Cuisine is a real art, like the ones at Musee du Louvre. You would see tons of photos of the dishes of this restaurant. When you actually have it, you would be amazed by your... More

My wife and I visited the restaurant for dinner. We've been to several Michelin star restaurants and some others in Paris. We found the dishes nice, but not outstanding. The foie gras and the langoustine entrees were the highlight. The other dishes were good but the use of truffle and caviar is no substitute for real innovation which we were... More

I wanted to try a 3 stars restaurant in Paris and this was the only option, all others were full. This was empty, only 4 tables, total 8 people for lunch. The environment is very depressing, and the waiters are watching you all the time, but not really helpful, service is very slow and they can not even figure out how... More

It isn't just about food. This is French cuisine. Very classy, with the finest elements and also creativity and exquisite mixes. I was expecting something a bit too classical and it was a wonderful surprise in each and every plate. They also had an exceptional selection for wine by the glass, which was good because I don't drink and my... More

My Meal at l'ambroise was top notch , not a single fault , albeit boring and uninspiring presentation , however the taste speaks volumes From Great starters to damn good Mains , finishing it off with an impeccable dessert ( perhaps the best I've ever had ) All of that can be dealt with a blow if both the service... Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
