We were impressed with the standard of cooking in this restaurant. The menu is small and they have a couple of interesting and unusual dishes on the menu which makes a refreshing change. (So many restaurants in Paris have the same dishes on offer). There is also a blackboard with specials. Service was very friendly and it's cosy and nice... More

This was our third time here and it's still a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Everything was absolutely delicious and the wait staff were helpful and friendly. There are only set price menus but there are several choices for each course and it's very reasonably priced. We will definitely return here.

We all loved our dinner at this cozy, welcoming restaurant. The service was excellent and very accommodating. My fish was succulent and I had to hold myself back from ordering one more ile flottante, which was superb! Would definitely come back!!

The specialty of the house is the slow roasted lamb cooked in filo pastry. It is served like a small pie on roasted, deliciously flavoured eggplant. Two courses around Euro 30 and three courses around Euro 35. Excellent value. You will need to book. I've been coming here for about 5 years and never seen an empty seat. The tourists... More

We typically trust reviews on TripAdvisor. However, I have to be honest - we were a bit disappointed with La Maison du Jardin. The staff was very nice and accommodating of our limited French vocabulary. We did appreciate the English menu also. The starters were very good, duck pate and pea soup. Unfortunately the entrees were a bit disappointing. They... More

We had a nice diner with friends: entree Gaspacio, stuffed pepper and tuna then tender veal, Lamb Pastilla and sea bream. All well prepared and well presented. The highlight was the dessert: figs and wine plus Vanilla ice cream. A cosy and nice local restaurant for a casual diner.

This was the best meal that I have ever had in Paris and I am a little bit of a food snob. I'm not sure why this restaurant has been overlooked by Michelin .... We had a lovely Duck rilette which was perfect. The main course was one of the best things I have ever experienced...It was a shoulder of... More

the restaurant is small and not the best ambience but this is overcome by friendly and efficient service. The food was excellent. Can't comment on the price because best of all, somebody else paid!

the food here was incredible, not sure why some reviewers talked about this is not a good place for Americans or be aware of English menu as this had no impact on experience. Resto was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond. Our hotel called to inquire if they had steak/frites on menu and we were told they had entrecote... More

Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
