We ate at this pleasant restaurant in Montmartre hoping to find good seafood choices and we were not disappointed. The decor is formal but the service and atmosphere are relaxed. We shared a huge cold seafood platter which contained a great variety of mollusks and shellfish, some of which required much patience and dexterity to reap a reward, but that... More

We visited La Mascotte 3 years ago and returned for this trip to Paris. This is a very nice brasserie with wonderful seafood! Next door is their own seafood market with a raw bar, so you can see that everything is fresh. Four of us walked in without a reservation, and we were accommodated very nicely. Most of the staff... I wasn't expecting a lot, but I was SURPRISED!! The oysters were great, the bouillabaisse was incredible, and one of the few places that still make crepes suzettes. I was in heaven. Great service and a true Parisian atmosphere. I wish I had more time in Paris to go back.

We were in Montmartre looking for lunch on a Sunday and most places didn't look that inviting until we hit La Mascotte. It had a very lively bar up front and nice white cloth tables in the back. We were only looking for a light lunch so I had the fish soup and my wife had a plate of smoked... More

La Mascotte was recommended to us by a friend, and they were right! We started with the oysters which were very fresh and distinctly different from what we get on the east coast of the US. I had the mussels for my entree - they are now the standard against which I will judge all other mussels! Fresh, creamy, and... More

We ate here twice during our recent stay in Montmartre. It is outstanding. We each had the Dover Sole (whole fish) during the first visit. For our second outing, I had the razor clams, and my wife had the moules (mussels). Scrumptious all around. The mille feuille dessert is "to die for".

3rd visit to La Mascotte, nestled in the heart of bohemian Montmartre, and it is safe to say that since their extensive refurbishment, quality & high standards still remain in abundance. Fresh fish is clearly the order of the day, with a huge choice of Brittany shellfish on offer, delivered daily. The right attitude of 'when it's gone, it's gone'... More

This restaurant provided a high quality dining experience. It was typically French with informative and attentive waiters and of course high quality food. Whilst I did not opt for the shell fish because of my other quests the displays of food being taken out looked outstanding. The wine list was really impressive with relatively inexpensive wines proving to be great.

La Mascotte has the best seafood, very fresh, I recommend the Cancale oysters, the langoustines or the Plateau de fruits de mer which are all exceptionnal. If you prefer meat it is excellent as well as the wine, the champagne and the desserts. And I also has recently the best Caesar salad ever. The service is quick, professionnal and in... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
