We had breakfast at La Rotonde this morning. It was a bit on the expensive side but both the food and the service were very good. The omelet was very tasty and and the fresh squeezed orange juice was excellent.

I often stay in that area of Paris and I've been to La Rotonde for coffee, lunch, snack and dinner - it never disappoints. In fact it is a very good quality cooking for quite reasonable prices (considering the area: of course if you move further away from this posh area of Montparnasse then prices will be quite different). We stopped here for breakfast before exploring the area populated by some of the greatest writers of the early 20th century, including Hemingway. We did not realise this was one of their haunts. Delicious fresh juice, croissant and roll. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

This was a hangout for the likes of Picasso, Matisse and their cronies of the era. I have probably eaten over 40 meals in this restaurant. Today, with the amazing location on the corner of Blvd. Montparnasse and Raspail, you can sit on the terrace and observe a combination of the old and the new Paris. It is still a... More

Very french decor. Waitstaff very efficient even with busy hours. Food was excellent, done to perfection and served hot. Great location not far from Metro.

Food is good classic, but it is the atmosphere that makes it. The place has been operating since just after 1900. I thinks it is the best of the classic places on the street. Perfect for romantic French dinner. Go late to eat.

Whilst we were staying in Montparnasse we visited La Rotonde for breakfast one morning. The gentleman who served us was very friendly, personable and yet professional. We could not find fault in anything that was brought to the table... from the buttery croissants baked to perfection, to the freshly squeezed orange juice and fabulous coffee. I only wish we had... La rotonde is a very old and famous typical french brasserie, one of the best for sure; The menu is a good selection of classical french food, choice of meat, of fish, salads, classical french recipes, few vegetarian selection as well; it's qualitative; The staff is so professional, efficient and they never forget to be kind, to serve you the... Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
