The staff at this cute little spot were very nice and helpful. It is a really small restaurant so reserve a table or get there very early. We didn't make a reservation but were lucky to get a table before the place got full. The Entrecote was very very good (according to my husband) and the Duck breast was literally... More

Relatives had recommended 'Bistrol d'Henri' but they were so PACKED on Saturday night, so the owner asked if we want to go over to their sister restaurant 'Machon d'Henri'. We said 'oui' so he walked us around the corner to his other place and boy, we're glad we followed. As a American who has claustrophobic issues, dining in this small... More

We stayed at a hotel near by and decided to give this restaurant a try based on the reviews. We were welcomed into this quaint restaurant. Make sure to get there early or make a reservation in advance as there are only a few restaurants. This was one of the best restaurants we ate at while in Paris. Food was... More

This tiny bistro on rue Guisarde was a fabulous find. It was one of our favorite dinners while in Paris. We found this area last year on a visit and have eaten at three different places and loved each one. The atmosphere at Le Machon is lively and welcoming. We shared the warm camembert which was a melted wheel of... More

Initially went to sister restaurant but it was full and we took advice to try Le Machon d'Henri. From the minute we walked in the door the service was warm, funny and faultless. The food superb. The fresh goats milk cheese with tapenade and pesto was delicious. The marrow bone with toasts was classic and the duck breast sublime. A... More

Fabulous little place in Saint-Germain for dinner. Pork, ravioli and veal dishes were all superb. Nothing wrong with the house wine either. If you want an authentic french bistro meal definitely try this place. The owner finished off our meal with a complimentary taste of a superb 28 year old liquer. Very reasonably priced meal in this area.

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères.
