Came here because of a friend's recommendation. It's across the road from Notre Dame and next to the Shakespeare book shop. Best meal we had in Paris. It's a cosy restaurant with 2 levels and very friendly service. The menu doesn't have much English but the staff will translate for you so listen well. We had the snails (nice), some... More

We both ordered steak (filet and rib eye) and watched it being cooked over an open fire at the back of the restaurant. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. We enjoyed our meals with the very good house red!

A great little find in a sea of 'touristy' restaurants. The food was delicious and the atmosphere lovely. My cousin is vegetarian and although they didn't have any veggie mains (the one negative point I have - but it seems to be the case in most restaurants here) she was able to find a couple of suitable appetisers in place... On our last evening we discovered the nearby Le Petit Chatelet on our way back from Notre Dame, perfectly placed along the Seine. No need any more to rely on the fast food joints in the area or to travel afield for decent eating. 'Chatelet' is a gem. Luckily it was early so we were not turned away, like many... More

I found Le Petit Chatelet on line and took a chance on being able to get in when they opened for dinner at 7PM. We arrived 15 minutes early and were able to make a 7PM reservation. A true stroke of luck because we saw many others turned away as there was simply no room. All the staff was incredibly... More

It is always very hard to find a nice, friendly restaurant serving good food close to tourist highlights. Well, this small, cosy place is such an exception. Overlooking the Notre Dame, which is so nice to see when illuminated late in the evening, and next to the metro station, it is well located, yet not swarmed with just tourists. Probably... More

Had an enjoyable meal after a long day touring various sights. Finished off with crepes flambeed in Grand Mariner. Very nice. Good service. Unpretentious.

I have come there with a group of customers for business dinner. The place is cosy, but still spacious to host many guests and larger groups like ours. It has very relaxed atmosphere and french taste about the decoration. As to food we loved every bit of it, menu has options for every budget. It consists of french cuisine classics... More

It's a small intimate dining place with lovely ambience. The food were amazing and friendly service. Went there during the afternoon and we managed to get a table without reservation. Ordered Foie gras and prawn salad for starters. The main courses were steak and seabass with scallops. The dishes were amazing and reasonably priced. Definitely would visit there again when... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
