Just popped in after arriving to Paris. Place was full on a Thurs, yet we managed to get a table. Picked the daily menu without really knowing what we would get. Good deal with two courses, a glass of wine and a coffee for Eur 18 Fast paced and local with a mix of business people and Sorbonne students.

Tourists who complain about not finding good authentic French food in Paris need to visit here. Not fancy but comfortable. Go with the "menu/prix fixe" and you have no other decisions to make. Best mushroom bisque (with drops of pesto sauce) that I've ever eaten.

We had dinner at this restaurant about 2 years ago and found it to be a real find for matching wine and food in the 5th arr. in Paris. Our revisit today was nothing short of horrible. Our appetizers (entrees) were poorly made and tasted terrible. Our plats were just as bad, In place of the interesting wine list of... More

The place is full at lunch, but also very enjoyable for dinner. The service is excellent and discreet, the choice of meals is very surprising, mixing typical French food with harmonious touches of exotic spices, fresh vegetables. Desserts are just a treat and wine is well-served as well. Local customers.

Have visited this restaurant several times in the past and always found it to be fun with good food and atmosphere. Sadly ... no longer. The set menu had no choice of items and was poor quality meat - so tough had to leave most of it. Small jugs of wine still OK but generally nowhere near as good as... More

Used to enjoy this place very much. Went there at lunch, the waiter kicked us out after one hour seating saying "I need your table for other guests who have booked it". When going through the cash desk, he said to another waiter, "I just got their table cleared". Food is ok, but we expect more from great places who... More

We went for dinner in a group of 25 people and had the prix fixe 3-course menu with accompanying wines recommended by the manager. I was expecting indifferent service and average food given the large size of our group but was pleasantly surprised. They seated us in a cosy basement room and the service was attentive and efficient, while the... More

This restaurant was recommended in a blog about best eateries in the Latin Quarter and just happened to be 2 short blocks from our hotel, Best Western Jardin de Cluny. This gem was also recommended by the hotel. Fabulous food, superior wait staff with a great sense of humor, and great chef all for a very reasonable price only a... More

We stumbled across this restaurant tired and hungry. We were happy to find menu choices that were creative and different than most we'd tried. The staff was friendly but could have been slightly more attentive. The food was delicious but we had to send one dish back because it was cold and the second dish was only hot enough. We... More

Description
Located in the heart of Paris in the famous Latin Quarter, Le Pré Verre is far from the bustle and frenzy of the rue de la Huchette, a typical street in this district. Its concept: our kitchen, entirely homemade and based on fresh products. Our restaurant distinguishes itself by having a certain creativity, mixing spices in a subtle and balanced manner. An all-inclusive mid-day menu with starter and daily main dish, glass of wine and coffee for the unbeatable value of 14.50 Euros. If you wish to order individual items off the menu, we offer a special menu that includes an appetizer, main plate, and dessert so you can sample all flavors, for only 32.00 euros.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
