I was a worried it would be difficult to find a quaint little place in the area after a vast choice in Montmartre. This was a lovely surprise. Decor and music were both pleasing to the eye and ear respectively. The staff were really nice, friendly and accommodating. Food was very good. Vegetable soup for starter and beef as main... More

We loved our dinner here! It was just around the corner from where we were staying and we wanted a genuine French restaurant. They did have a few English menus and a waiter spoke some English. The food was delicious!

I ate dinner twice here as it was very close to where I was staying near the Pompidou art center. I had a plate of perfectly seasoned grilled veggies served with bread and a glass of house red. One evening I had the Floating Islands in Earl Gray Custard for dessert. Delicious! When I was there the patrons were locals... More

I discovered this place by chance while I was looking for somewhere peaceful to dine with a friend of mine. We were very well attended, the waiters were really nice and the cuisine is simple, but really tasty, genuine and not without fantasy. I was really very satisfied with the desserts: I had a perfect cheesecake (creamy, firm, not to... More

A really charming spot in a side street near the Pompidou centre. I've rated it Average but with a more glowing title - because Trip Advisor refuses to put a classification of "Good' in their ratings scale, which is where I'd put this! Service was friendly, fast, and very welcoming. The food was homemade and tasty, well prepared - we... More

Came across this restaurant while walking around and it was absolutely perfect! All products are fresh, everything is homemade and on top of that service is very friendly. The menu is creative and a bit different than the usual french cuisine, it is more refined. There is a good wine selection and a couple of fun, special beers you will... More

Love the atmosphere, this kind of warm feeling you get when you enter. And food -- simply brilliant. Would recommend the place to anyone who likes to chill out, drink great wine and eat some delicious food.

This is a small place in an alley near the Pompidou Centre. The menu is a bit different from the average wonderful place, so it stands out. We've had their daily specials both times. We had the chicken last night. It was cut up and shredded a bit then grilled in a light sauce. It was quite delicious but hard... More

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice meal away from the crowds at the places on the main streets. By chance we came across this little gem of a place down a side street. We stayed in the front bar area rather than going to the back (we weren't aware of the back room at the time, although... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
