I was very suprised by my experience at Le Basilic, I'm usually sceptical of restaurants in the Montmartre area as there are a lot of expensive places that don't offer quality foods. But Le Basilic is different, the food is amazing and the service is great. I had the saumon tartare as an entree which was very good and enough... More

Le Basilic is a cozy bistro with a comfortable menu. Service was very attentive and prices reasonable. We enjoyed French onion soup, Camembert Roti and escargot, all delicious and nicely presented. A lamb shank on a bed of white beans and carrots was superb-- braised then dusted with bread crumbs then lightly broiled for a delicate toasty coating. The wine... More

Another visit to this very good restaurant - twice in fact during this trip to Paris. Food was excellent and reasonably priced - staff attentive (not always the case in France!) and extremely efficient. They do seem to have crammed in even more covers since our last visit - it didn't bother us but some visitors might find it a... More

My boyfriend and I make a point of coming here every time that we are together in Paris. While it is a small restaurant with limited seating, the food is absolutely worth squeezing together a little bit. Based on my experiences, I definitely recommend ordering off of the menu as opposed to a la carte. We can't wait to come... More

Indifferent tastes in an indifferent environment ... expensive too. We took veal and prawns... not satisfied. The onion soup was better but I have tasted better in other restaurants

This was a real chance find, in the heart of Montmartre. It is a very classic French bistro, with a lovely welcoming atmosphere. I don't know if they take reservations, but when I walked in off the street they found a table for me within a few minutes, despite it being absolutely packed. (I saw an American couple get very... The dinner was perfect, the service was very friendly and though the restaurant was full, we received our meals in a short time.

While walking in Montmartre we took a rest at a small bench with a vieuw to this restaurant. I took a picture, because it is a real authenthic nice looking restaurant squeesed between two roads. Out of curiosity I looked inside and was instantly in love with the place. Although is was a quater to 5, we were welcomed to... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
