I was totally shocked by the negative reviews presented here. Our experience was fantastic. The food selection is amazing. The menu had so many choices that it is almost iverwhelming. And it was good. Now this is not some fancy-smancey Parisian eatery where you get six courses with matched wine. It is, however, great food at very reasonable prices for... More

When we get there we were given the menu, the price was lil bit expensive but we thought we would just grab a drink here. The hostess asked us to follow her downstairs where there is music but once we got there, she said the price would be a lil bit more expensive. Taken aback we asked her to show... More

* Visited this restaurant because it was close to our hotel and we wanted a quick dinner. * Menu: wide selection of burgers, texmex, and pizzas. * Decoration full of American stuff, but mainly junk. * Tables are too small for the dishes. * Service extremely slow and not too many waiters around. * Variety of food but one cannot... Paris is literally lined with thousands of terrific restaurants. I especially enjoy Paris in the summer, as its very quiet and you can find your way around very easily. That being said, I would not recommend this place for anything other than the use of WIFI..... Paris itself is a Dream.... this place ISN'T.... Definitely NOT recommended.....

First of all it has nothing connected with Paris, but that apart the, the food is nothing special, very expensive and the place is dark and too busy to relax. Particularly the Toilets were very dirty. With the money you pay here you can get a much better service and food in Paris

I was not shocked to see all the negatives about this restaurant. I will not re-say what other users have already come foward with but putting it very simply to you. -- The waiter is completely arrogant and will ignore you -- terrible service of seating .... terrible service overall... Thank goodness all I had was a beer here. Even... More

I can't understand why this cafe is not crowded. Seems it doesn't have a good marketing. We enjoyed our time here. Very friendly stuff. Great music. A lot of space.

We ended up dining at The American Dream after a long night of travelling and having just arrived in Paris. Very hungry, we were attracted by the 'fixed price lunch menu'. The hostess of the restaurant was very pleasant and invited us to store our small travel bags in a locked room. The problems started as soon as we were... More

You should go here to get some junk food and cheap drinks. At the same time you get good nostalgic music in a typical American environment. Good service, simple and what we expect. Not fine dining, but the atmosphere is good and a nice place for a food stop.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
