This was our go-to spot while spending a week in Montemarte. In the a.m. for croissant, buttery, flakey, everything they should be to go with morning coffee we brewed. In the p.m. for a baquette to enjoy with fromage and wine on our terrace. Of course, there was the occasional pain a chocolate. Just loved it.

An excellent Parisienne boulangerie. We stayed in Paris for 4 days and we chose this boulangerie for our breakfast everyday. If you go to Montmartre you must pay a visit. It's close by the metro station Abbesses. The staff was absolutely amazing!

Don’t know what to tell you. People stand in line. And it’s worth it. Friendly staff.
We bought pastries, bread and snacks and it was wonderful.
I would detour to get fig goat cheese bread again.

The food was outstanding however the service was one of the worst we’ve ever had. We went in there as a family of 5 and started pointing out the bread and pastries that we wanted thinking that whoever is there can help us. One of the girls in there started asking “if we are together” and I said yes because I’m paying for everything, however she would get so upset if any of us were helped by another person in the bakery. She kept asking “if we’re together” and at the end when it was time to pay, she was almost yelling at us and rolling her eyes because somehow we did not order the way she wanted us to order. I don’t understand what was the issue but she was so upset. And she didn’t even get our orders right, I had to remind her what she forgot so she can charge us for it. Food was excellent but this nearly ruined our day in Paris. Even with the language barrier I did not think it should be such a big deal, it's a to-go bakery, we ordered and i paid, should be simple, end of story but this girl had to make ordering so stressful. we were almost afraid to order the coffee after that because that was going to upset her more

Avoid! I visited a few times. Always the same. Not a good experience like at every other I've visited in Paris or in France. Worse, effects of the bad experience lingers for at least a day following the visit. Have spent over two years cumulative time visiting France and think I know how to judge this situation. If you want to ruin your trip, then by all means stop in here.

My partner and I tried the croissant, pain au chocolat, Kouign Amann, and bagette. All really excellent! They're flaky and fresh. We'll come back here again the next time we're in Paris.

Pub and bar hopping around this area of Montmartre my twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into Le Grenier A Pain Abbesses and what a great find.
A traditional boulangerie ,glass counters showcase the goodies on offer ,neat and tidy, lovely decor and furnishings ,it's a really good bakery.
We queued up ,short wait ,we purchased a ham and cheese baguette each plus a cream tart ,absolutely delicious ,hardly surprising this place is so popular.
We munched our baguette and cake outside ,had a great time before we moved on , can't wait to visit here again.
Le Grenier A Pain is easy to locate along Rue Des Abbesses.
Opening hours are;
Monday,7.30am till 8pm.
Tuesday & Wednesday,closed.
Thursday to Sunday,7am till 7.30pm.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area

You can’t go wrong here. Fresh food, big portions, reasonably priced and very tasty baked goods. The deserts looked great!

This was the first bakery we visited upon arriving in Paris. The filled baguettes were excellent, my personal favourite the chicken salad with a curried sauce (not quite coronation chicken, much drier- in a good way) which comes in a seeded baguette which is beautifully nutty, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I don't often get excited about baguettes, but I am prepared to make an exception for this one. The queue was out the door which is testament to their products and popularity.

The almond croissants are fantastic! The line out the door speaks for itself. Do yourself a favor and stop by for an inexpensive snack.

Traditional bakery, visible oven, freshly baked items . Antique furniture ,wooden beams , tempting display will attract you instantly.Crusty baguette, the best I have ever tasted.Croissant with chocolate filling is another delicious item.Soft, flaky with a hint of butter. We chanced upon it while walking up to Montmartre. Various types of tarts, jams in small glass jars and patisseries are also available here.Drop in for their outstanding quality of baked items. Price is also very reasonable.

On our walking tour the guide pointed out that this bakery had twice won the coveted award for best traditionalle baguette so it was a must to try it. I am travelling alone so was even able to buy a small baguette for just 60 cents!! Amazing value. And it was clearly worthy - wonderful, crusty, soft on the inside and so tasty. I’d rush back for more if I could.
The rest of the food in the shop looked incredibly tempting too and the service was so unassuming, quick and friendly. A real find.

Stopped in for breakfast about 2 weeks ago while visiting Paris based upon the amazing reputation of this bakery. Exceeded expectations!
My wife and I were traveling to Lyon that same day so we stocked up on snacks for the long ride. We tried the chocolate croissant, traditional croissant, baguette, baguettes with comte and lardons, baguette with olives, pain au chocolate, and perhaps one or 2 other goodies. Everything was amazing. Hands down the best of any of the aforementioned baked goods we have ever had. Our personal favorite was the baguettes with comte and lardons, we highly recommend trying!
The bakery is very well staffed and the line moves quickly (we only waited for about 5 minutes or less). There is no seating area but we found a cafe down the road that let us sit there while we enjoyed some espressos with the baked goods we brought.
Thank you for the amazing baked goods!

The best baguette, ever .... and always consistent. Other items are also good. However with the baguette like this, you probably don't need anything else.
