A friend who lives in Paris took me to this little gem for dinner. He's friends with the owner and insisted I would love this place. And of course, he was right! Love this place. As a tourist, I would have never have found it. I'm glad I have friends in France. The portions are HUGE! They offer large portions... More

This was a great french restaurant. Great ambiance and nice staff. It is a small but it has a very warm and familiar deco. I had the fish soup, which was excellent and for my main, I had the duck. The duck was fine. Not the 'best' but it was good. Overall, I recommend this place for a dinner. Great... More

Excellent food, good service, reasonably priced, traditional but unassuming. Looking for a restaurant in La Villette? Well worth the pleasant walk along the canal from the Ibis Cite La Villette that we stayed at.

Delicious food in a genuine, non-tourist restaurant not far from the dock of the Canal Martin boat terminal

A small local venue located in the neighbourhood of Jaures metro station. One of those places that is made for locals. Great atmosphere and even better food. Onion soup was to die for and my mules marinere were also good. Great service on top and you get a perfect night out with your girlfriend/wife. Authentic French cuisine that won't ruin... More

Traditional Parisian dishes in a quaint little restaurant by the canals. Excellent service with a very friendly host and generous portions. Highly recommended - the real Parisian experience among locals WITHOUT any kind of tourist trap and notorious French service

Locals flock to this place for its down-to-Earth atmosphere and the generous portions of well-prepared, country-style French food. Interesting wine list with something for every taste and pocketbook. Plus you can walk along the quad before and after your meal, and that's a huge plus. English language menus for those who want them.

We got this restaurant recommended by our friend who used to live in Paris and we were not disappointed. We came bit too early, but half an hour after opening, the restaurant was full of people, music, great food and singing and communicative owner of the establishment. I would totally recommend creme brulee, it was heaven on earth.

A wonderful authentic restaurant, right next to the beautiful canal at the heart of La Villette, the popular, non touristy section of Paris. As soon as we came in, we were warmly welcome by the host and were treated like special guests for the duration of the meal. The food was absolutely delicious and nicely plated. The appetizer options were... More

This small restaurant offered some of the best food we had during our trip and they didn't skimp the portions either. Au rendez-vous de la Marine is filled with locals, so you know it's good. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth a visit. Don't let the austere first impression of the waitress scare you off, she is... More

Staying in La Villette

Neighbourhood Profile
La Villette
This futuristic landscape has come to define the northeast of Paris. The Saint-Denis canal is framed with luscious lawns and metallic buildings over a wide-open space. Home to Europe's largest science museum, this area rewards daytime and nighttime explorations; there are three concert spaces, plus cinemas and bars, and even open-air cinema in the summer. The surrounding homes are a sharp contrast to the futuristic space. Though on the outskirts of Paris, La Villette is worth the short Metro ride from the centre.
