you hear so much about Angelina & Laduree for hot chocolate and macaroons. so i had to try both for comparison. I didn't try any hot drinks at Laduree but the hot chocolate at Angelina was perfect. very rich and creamy and not too sweet. The serving was just enough not to be too much. The macaroons were so-so. Maybe... More

Trying the hot chocolate at Angelina's was one of my must-do things in Paris, and since we didn't have time to go to Rue Rivoli, we stopped by this one. We didn't actually go in, but instead opted to take our chocolate chaud and a box of macarons to go from the little boutique. The hot chocolate is as amazing... More

Little known to most tourists is that there is a 2nd location for Angelina's in the upscale Mall attached to the Porte Maillot Metro stop. Pretty much all the same offerings including the world famous hot chocolate (L'African). I'd advice any visitor to make for this location.

Enjoy a fantastic creamy hot chocolat inside a traditional old style room. Lunch food is good and deserts are great. Be patient to get a table as there is usually a sizable queue but worth the wait

We were visiting in Paris, France and several friends told us we must try Angelina. It was very close to The Louvre and perfect for a break before walking to Notre Dame. We were not disappointed. You see the line of people from the street but it moved fast. We all enjoyed our hot chocolate and beautiful pastries and bought... More

We stood in a line (yes you read it right) at 3.00pm in the afternoon to get into this place. We were already starting to have doubts if we were about to experience another of those classic overrated tourist traps scenario.Fortunately we were proven so wrong!! Angelina is the classic French pattisserie with a lovely ambience and decor. As you... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
