This ranks as one of the best restaurants I have been to in Paris. The place is small and hidden and one should not judge it from the way it looks outside. The food options are few but the food tastes simply amazing, home made and the service is very personal. A truly Creole restaurant.

Dont get worried when you see the outside of the restaurant (or the empty inside if like me you arrive early). This place is a gem. Genuine home-cooking from the Reunion Island, Creole food. Comfort food, not too spicy (if asked gently and if you avoid the pickled pepper served separately), really really delicious. We tried a bit of everything,... More

WOW! We live next door and for years have tried to get a table in this tiny restaurant. It fills up very quickly and we never thought of... RESERVING! What a brilliant idea. Here you feel like your in someones home. No fancy decor and you sit elbow to elbow with the other happy customers. We took a mixed entrée... More

For the first time in my life, I tried Créole food and I must admit I just loved it. One of the best places in Paris if you want to have real spicy food. So here goes my review: 1. Food: Amazing For starters, we ordered a platter which included dumplings, samosas, etc(shown in pictures) and then for the main... More

I wanted to introduce my friends to creole/cajun cooking as found on the Reunion Island (a French department in the southern hemisphere right next to Mauritius) and decided to try this little restaurant having read some very positive comments online. I did reserve way ahead as the place is tiny. The chef is busy with his pots and pans in... More

Never heard or tried reunion food before. A little island between Madagascar & Mauritius. Mixture of various cultures has brought out and interesting blend of spicy flavoured food. Small restaurant, would recommend booking ahead. We had a mixed entree and 2 mains. Could barely finish the food as we were stuffed. In retrospect would have order the mixed entree and... More

First time for us in a "reunionais" restaurant. We did not know this cuisine but have been both pleasantly surprised. We had a mix of dishes as starter, which was really good and allowed us to try different specialities. Then I had a garouil pork, which was just delicious. My wife had a garouil codfish which was also very good.... More

The Goyavier is a tiny restaurant that can't accommodate more than 20-25 people at max. It is held by a person passionate about his homeland cuisine, that of the french island, la Reunion. The portions are huge, the flavors are exquisite and fresh.. the ambiance is really relaxed, and feels like home. Expect the service to be a bit slow,... More
