Found this place on our last night in Paris. We looked for another restaurant which had shut down. Found this one instead and glad we did. The places itself is cosy decorated in old kind of medevil style. The chef Lillian was lovely laughing and joking with us. We invited her to sit and have a glass of wine with... More

This restaurant is a hidden gem on Ile St. Louis. It is difficult to find with no signage. The restaurant is small and only seats about a dozen people. It is quaint and feels like you are dining in old Paris. Lillian served as our maitre de, waitress and chef and was delightful. My wife ordered the beef bouguignon and... More

We stopped in without reservations on a Saturday night and surprisingly, were able to be seated immediately. More people came in and by the time we left, the main floor dining room was mostly full; a lot of people didn't speak French, so I assume that they get many tourists. It's very small, but they've managed to create seating for... More

The cassoulet was terrific but everything was good. Charming and cozy, and staff was cheery and helpful. We'll definitely come back.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and we were looking forward to a great meal. We ordered a Provencal Chicken dish. It tasted as if it had been prepared a few days in advance and re-heated--my serving had many bones. There were only a few other diners in the restaurant. Overall, it wasn't a meal that I... More

Good service, interesting wines, and some really nice food, especially the cassoulet, which was excellent. The cheese board is also recommended!

Non descript front. Cozy setting and delicious beef bourguignon!! We revisit each time we are in Paris! The staff is small, but personable.

This place looked authentic and the reviews were mostly ok. I ate there tonight and I was the only one in the place. I ordered a kir, and either the wine was old or they're using a cheap creme de cassis because the flavor was unpleasant. I let that go. I noticed cleaning supplies on the counter in plain sight.... My partner and I stopped at this cosy restaurant for lunch on our way walking through the Ile Saint Louis. The cooking is Provencal style and we had a delicious vegetable soup and chicken provencal. (I noticed many other traditional French dishes on the menu). The desserts were also good and the service was prompt and polite. I happened to... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
