We were across the road having a drink and saw a prime table open up. I ran over and grabbed the table. You should ask to be seated first, which I didn't realize, however this was handled sensitively by the man in charge, fantastic to our dining experience. A magic evening sitting outside on a pavement in Paris watching the... More

We had an early dinner here on a Saturday night (5pm time). The food was excellent, I have chicken roulade and my 2 friends had the entricote steak. All dishes were delicious, and really good value for money. The steak in particular was amazing value - €16 for what I think we would have easily paid £30 in London. I... More

We stoped here for lunch. The place is just close to center Pompidou museum, so it was in our way to Notre Damme. The service was very slow although the place wasn't full. The waiter was rude and not interested in doing a good job. The food was really bad. I ordered the "veggie meal", and it was the worst... More

Stoppped to see if lunch was in order. 10 minutes till we tracked down a waiter and 30 minutes to track down someone to pay and leave, the answer was no.

We have been eating here from time to time for over 10 years. Have never been disappointed. I shared the fois gras as it is a generous portion. The staff are lovely. The mains may not be superb but they are consistently good.

Would not return if it was the only restaurant open in Paris. The waiter and waitress were extremely rude, Unfortunately was sick for 3 days after eating here. A one stop tourist shop with overpriced subpar food.

Dropped by for some wine, whose selection was not very good but the wine was drinkable, although of not very good value for money.

I was introduced to this place by a local friend of mine. It is really a charming little place in the heart of the Marais. Good quality and delicious food; great value considering the prime location. The manager and staff were super friendly and accommodating. I love the fact that the menu is not big and they have an English... More

The menu is quite simple but we were completely satisfied of our dinner in this very touristy area. We had the chicken casserole, the tartare and the kids had sausage. We drank a Langudoc wine that was very fruity and excellent value for the price. The place is quite small and crowded but it feels comfortable and cosy.

Service was great. Atmosphere is french and feel is authentic, so you do not feel like in a tourist place

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
