The staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially as we don’t speak French. The food was delicious and the presentation of each dish was very impressive. We coupled our fantastic food with a local wine which was delicious! The decor is classy but comfortable, creating...a relaxed and intimate ambience. Local paintings complemented the style and were great to look at as well as being informative of the area and culture. Highly recommendMore

Good food and wine selection. Pleasant to sit and dine outside on a summer's evening overlooking square. Locals were eating there too which is always a good sign.

Excellent food and place. Very quiet and friendly restaurant, to enjoy your food, to chat with friends, to relax from work or after a journey, as we did!!

We were tired. It had been hot, but hot all day. Restaurants along the street were not appealing. Then, we turned a corner and across the plaza was an awning w/a W on it. The menu and prices looked ok. We were seated outside immediately....Staff showed up right away. Staff and the owner checked in on us to make sure that everything was ok. It was. All in all, it was good food, good wine, a cool night, a wonderful time.More

We were greeted as if we were a pain to serve. We were not taken to a table just waved to an area. It took an eternity to serve us. The apero drinks were mediocre, expensive and for those that needed it didn't come with...a straw. Three of us had fish dished, one was off and overcooked and two massively overcooked. There were items missin that were mentioned on the menu. No one gave a hoot! We sent three dishes back and the ones that arrived after were not much better but we were so hungry we ate anyway. There was no apology, nothing. We sent the bill back for a discount. We left and had pudding elsewhere. I am not sure whether they have changed hands but I would avoid it. It was awful from beginning to end.More

Nothing to say about food, price and speed of service! What is absolutely unacceptable is that NOBODY asks for Covid Certificate. Who guarantees that the 30 people around my family were tested or vaccinated??? Too many people in the same part of the restaurant without...any care for “distancing” that still represents the first protection against Covid. On top of this, NO ONE of the waiters was wearing musks!! We also asked to the waiter about local regulation (In Italy Covid certificate and masks for waiters are mandatory!!) and he said that yes…. they should ask for the certificate but is not the approach of the restaurant. Totally unacceptable in this pandemic period!!! I would NEVER recommend!!More

We got into Nîmes late, and this was the closest place to our hotel that was open. The staff was friendly, and the food was amazing. My husband said his burger was so good it has ruined other burgers for him.

Plenty of space for the tables to be socially-distanced outside to catch the cool breeze (and the fantastic salsa music being played by a band a little distance away near les Arènes). Lighting under the trees provided just the right ambiance. The service was friendly...and helpful, and they were quite entertaining and amusing! Perhaps they were a bit understaffed, so somewhat stretched taking orders and serving in a timely manner. There is a great range of dishes on the menu, and everyone at our table of 6 was happy with their order, although they all envied me the ‘Mi Cuit de thon, Pesto Rouge’ – it was perfectly delicious.More

Recommended by our hotel, it did not disappoint. We had bar and seiches (fish and cuttlefish) and the tarte au citron for desert. The unobtrusive background music was a great selection of old blues. The service was excellent. It was our best meal in France...after a week in Montpellier.More

This restaurant provides reliably high quality food very close to the Roman Arena in Nimes. It is open pretty late at night. I remember the fish entree as being particularly good.

We were in Nimes for a Sunday and a bank holiday Monday, when most restaurants in town were closes. Our hotel recommended Le W and we ate there both nights. The staff was welcoming, but not overly so - something I appreciate. They spoke little...English, but we managed to make ourselves understood. The first night we had to translate the menu in French, the second night our waiter heard us speak English and gave us an English menu, making life easier! The first night we ordered from the tapas menu. We ordered several tapas which were all served at once: ailerons de poulet a l’arabiata (chicken wings in a spicy tomato sauce), frites maison (house fries deep-fried in duck fat and lightly salted), croustillant de boeuf facon kefta (sort of like a beef egg roll), planche bistrot fromage et charcouteries (a wide assortment of cheese and cured ham, salami, and country pate), and bread. All very good, heartily recommend! The second night we ordered from the regular menu. We both had a hamburger - but don’t turn up your nose at the idea of a downmarket meal. It was made of local bull beef (Camargue bulls) and topped with a thick slice of fois gras, two local cheeses, and a heavy garnish of caramelized onions. It came with a green salad (loved the dressing) and a basket of duck-fat-fried potatoes. We had house red and white wines with both meals, and enjoyed our meals. The decor is kinda kitschy, but fun and colorful. Great choice for meals!More

We arrived in Nimes later on Saturday night to find the hotel resturant was closed, we were pointed in the direction of Le W. So we thought why not. The server staff we very french, and very fast! we have a lovely set if startes,...i had the salt cod, this was really very good. My Wife had a salard. Which came with a large selection of different types! So for main course, we both selected the Tartar, See picture, this was the double ones, and boy was it good! I can completely recommend this dish. The resturange manager was very helpful and we had a overall great Night. I was also very nice to see that Wines from the area on Nimes are also on the wine list.More

Loved this place. First of all is open non stop, so it does not close during the "siesta" hours. They offer a large selection of food, wine and drink items, as well as a Special menu (Menu du Jour). I picked the latter and I...loved my duck leg quarter and the crispy hashbrown potato balls. Everything was cooked to perfection. You won't be disappointed. Nice staff, nice ambiance.More

We chose this restaurant as it was one of a fairly limited selection open on a Sunday evening, and initially we thought it was going to be a disaster - there weren't many other diners, and the waiter seemed to be very new to the...job. Between his inexperience, and our inadequate French, the order for the plate of charcuterie that we intended to share as a starter somehow didn't register, and we started in on the main courses. These, however, were good. My husband's magret de canard was a couple of meaty lumps of duck, well cooked, and my burger was good-quality meat, cooked rare as I'd requested. Our desserts, reasonably priced at 6 euros, more than made up for the missing starter, and we left in a far happier mood (probably helped by the bottle of wine, also very reasonably priced). The restaurant is situated on a pleasant, quiet square, ideal for sitting out on a warm evening, and were it not for the lapses in service (as well as the missing starter, my meal came with chips and salad when I'd asked for the vegetables) I would have given it 5 stars.More
