Le Pyrénéen is one of the oldest brasserie in Toulouse. Their menu is typical of what you would expect in a brasserie. My favorite being "variation de crustacés", "boudin et andouillette " and as a desert "crêpe à la grecque". The staff is great and some of the waiters have been working there for over 30 years. One of my... More

One night in Toulouse and chose this restaurant as we had walked past it so many times and it always looked very inviting. Staff were very helpful with the menu translation and the special on the board were very interesting. If you want something a little bit different then this is for you, even though it is a bit more... More

Traditional French cafe/restaurant with standards French fare. The menu will challenge the traditional American palate: don't be afraid - the food is wonderful!

Went here for lunch. They do not accept reservations so head here just after midday for a good seat and no disappointment. Have the oysters as they are delicious. We had the Toulouse saucisson and the sardines to follow. And also had the prawns flambé with whiskey. All was very nice and had some nice wine to accompany it all.... More

Very atmospheric restaurant with waiters in traditional gear calling out. Tables small and close together. Most customers locals. Headline is oysters, but I was on my own. Salad with lardons (lots of them), and prawns roasted with Pastis; all good and very substantial. Waiter spoke English well and was helpful: the wine I wanted was not available, but he recommended... Got in for lunch (unbooked) early. Just as well. The place filled up quickly and completely. Cordial, unfussy reception. Tables a little close-packed, but no really an issue. Service prompt and attentive. Food very good indeed. My wife had the marinated salmon with ginger as a starter and the swordfish after. Both pronounced excellent. I had a salade de lardons... More
