Although it is central in the city, this restaurant is not one you’ll walk past and like the look of – it is on a small side street, in a courtyard and downstairs. The atmosphere is nice though, in the cellar, it has a great look and worth the very occasional bit of brick dust falling on the tables around... More

This was our fourth or fifth visit over many years. The atmosphere/ambiance is still superb, the service was slow, but efficient when it appeared. The menu was disappointing: shrimp, salmon, foie gras, veal, beef steak, cassoulet, cabaillaut. My shrimp dish looked good but was tasteless — the cassoulet was overcooked and dry. The Bordeaux recommended by the waiter was very... More

Went with a group of colleagues from work. The place is beautiful, the atmosphere is nice (Mayte the live piano is too loud). The food is great, no too saucy, not too small portions, well cooked. Did not pay, so I don't know if it is pricey.

The dining room downstairs is incredible and a must see, but the food was underwhelming! Three of the six adults dining that night were disappointed with their meals! Two of us had the rib eye steak ordered medium per the recommendation of the waiter as the French describe medium rare as almost raw! Both plates were tough, fatty and tasteless!... More

We went there with a bigger group, unfortunately split to three tables. We had a 3 course menu for 36 €, including apero, wine and coffee. The quality of the food was excellent (foie gras and duck). The wine was well selected and the service quick. Please be aware, due to the cave, the mobile connection is not working.

Average food, maybe once good. Feels like a mass market, noisy and huge. Service quite efficient but without any affection. Would not go again.

Great place. It was built inside the old cellar of a monastery and is therefore underground. Spacious with beautiful brick stones. Excellent food and even better wine selection. The chef is a creative as a French chef ought be. I had great entrees, followed by a octopus and roasted lamb with herbs. Deserves a visit.

Very much a hit and miss with food. It seems like they have different chefs, one of which is amazing and the other one is abysmal. So the food quality ranges between almost inedible to fantastic. Come often for work because of the impressive interior but get disappointed more often than not.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the locals. Overall, it was a good experience We opted for three course menus (EUR 35 each). The starters - foie gras and prawns, were excellent. The same can be said of the mains (lamb and duck). The desert (I forgot the name of the cake) was brilliant, too. What left a little... More

I felt more like a guest in a home than simply a client. Two friends and I decided to choose a nice restaurant for a French lunch during our study abroad summer program in Toulouse. We sat ouside (quiet and pleasant, away from the street), since inside the restaurant were two large parties for Saturday lunch. Between our limited "Franglish"... More

Les Caves de la Marechale restaurant lies in the very heart of ancient Toulouse, in historic vaults built on even older ruins. These were the cellars of 13th century Domincan priory that survived many turns of fortune until forming this charming restaurant of exposed bricou, classical statuary, modern, comfortable seating, white table linens and effective pools of light. The menu is traditional Toulousian broadened with global influences all presented in beautiful arrangements in gastronomic style. There are dishes like aubergine caviar with pesto and parmesan, classic cassoulet in the local style, and famously naughty desserts. The service is fine, but its the magical surroundings that make Les Caves unforgettable.
