This was a lovely evening by the fireplace with excellent service and fresh, not overly heavy but delicious food. We were especially appreciative after having stood up and left our table and walked out of a place down the street (which we NEVER do) and were tired and cranky. The atmosphere and service here brightened us right up and we... More

We had our Thanksgiving meal here, it was lovely. The food was great as was the service. There were options for everyone. I am a vegetarian and I had several options and the meat-eaters in the group were also very pleased.

Because of a scheduling error regarding visiting the famous Bayeux Tapestry museum, we looked for a place to have lunch and we stumbled upon Le Pommier restaurant. Talk about a happy coincidence! The atmosphere was a mixture of family and elegance, with the wood-burning fire place adding just the right touch. I had the foix gras as a starter, the... More

The food was very good here. The local cuisine was very tasty and the atmosphere was relaxed and the place just had a nice vibe. The wine was also very good!!

We first had lunch and I had the foie gras and my husband the lamb and we were very pleased. So we went back for dinner (this time I had the lamb). Again, the food and service was very good, a little less "Normandy" than others in town.

We ate at Le Pommier our fist night in Bayeux, and chose it because it had good reviews and was only a 5 minute walk from our hotel. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and the mirrors made the room we were in seem larger than it is. We had a reservation, but were seated at a table... More

My husband and I visited Le Pommier recommended by the host at our B&B. We were glad we ate there and returned again a few days later as we enjoyed our first visit. My husband declared the escargot was the best he had ever eaten. My Foie gras was also very delicious! I had the lamb on the first visit... More

Great sweetbreads--my favorite. Overall good menu options and quite tasty. Attractively appointed small restaurants in center of town.

Description
The owners Isabelle and Thierry Lhuillery are strongly attached to the region, which displays lot's of famous specialities. Their cooking is both original and typical.
The owners know pretty well the local producers, with whom they have been working for many years. When the ingredients are cooked, it is always in the respect of their original flavour, only spices and fresh herbs are added in order to make the best come out of them.
Enjoy eating fresh sea food straight from the coast; try our daily raw marinated fish course, or a slice of duck foie gras flavoured with apple fragrances.
Don't miss our Normandy beef and duck breast, or our delicate fish dressed with a light cream dressing.
Do not also go by, without tasting our local cheeses such as : Camembert, Pont L’Eveque, Livarot or Neufchatel.
And finally to put a pleasant end to this perfect meal try a chaudfroid apple dessert...
It will be our pleasure to help you choosing in our wine and cider list the most appropriate beverage.
