We ate here while on a short break in Bayeux two years ago, and this time there was no question about going again. We were not disappointed; the staff are very friendly and efficient and the food is wonderful and very good value. As others have said, it fills up quickly so get there in good time.

Le Petit Normand is a delightful small restaurant across the street from the Bayeux Cathedral. The cuisine is traditional Normandy food. I had a delicious pork dish and later apple flan. The cooking is solid and, as I imagine, is the very best of local home cooking.

This is a great little restaurant, specializing in locally sourced food cooked in classical French recipes. The service is friendly. Many locals eat there. We ate there twice and both times it was outstanding.

Six of us went to see the Bayeux Tapestry, arrived at 12.15pm, and found it closes for lunch between 12-2! Walked towards the cathedral, turned right and found Le Petit Normand. Very welcoming and no problems or fuss seating us. Menus had an English translation and we chose the €17 fixed menu. I had the salade paysanne with confit pork... More

Quaint, cozy, owner run restaurant. Seats about 20. Recommended by our tour guide, we were not disappointed.

We ate here both nights that we were in Bayeux, it was so good the first time we just went back the second night. We had the E16.00 diner both nights and it is great value for the money. I would probably just go back here again if in Bayeux.

We were seated in a cosy area perfect for our group of 8 seasoned travellers who tend to be a little loud as we discuss our days adventures. As it turned out, we fitted right in as, at least this evening, the atmosphere was pretty congenial. The food quality was excellent and the service was very good. The menus had... More

We had a very good, typically Normandy cuisine meal at Le Petit Normand for a reasonable price. The night we were there the owner was also the server and kept things moving nicely even though the restaurant was full. The food was delicious.

Another very good meal in Bayeux! We arrived at the restaurant just after 7 on a Thursday without a reservation and were able to get a table no problem. Probably good we arrived when we did though because the restaurant quickly filled up. Food was excellent and the service was great as well. We left very satisfied!
