I loved this restaurant. The food was excellent, the service wonderful but what I loved mostly was the decor. A beautiful stone building with tables inside and others set outside behind plastics "walls" to protect you from the elements with a wonderful view overlooking the small square. At the back of the restaurant near the fireplace (sadly not lit the... More

The restaurant looked busier compared to most of the others in this twee, touristy part of the town and looked inviting, so we went in without having first checked on T.A. Plenty of spaces and could seat our party of 5 easily. Our aperitif orders were quite quickly taken. But then the waiting started ..... 20mins later the (overpriced) drinks... More

Took over 45 mins to take order, food was poor, wine tastes like its bin end on the turn. Generally poor taking advantage of tourists. Avoid

I had really been looking forward to visiting this restaurant - we often eat in this part of town, but it is a little more expensive than for a normal evening out for us. My food was ok - though lukewarm. My husband ordered duck breast - medium cook - it was virtually raw and he could cut it -... More

Wandered in to this quaint restaurant for dinner. Friendly staff but subpar meal. I ordered rack of lamb medium rare - it was a large chunk of tough lamb and very rare in the middle. Husband ordered duck breast, which is usually served sliced. This, too, was a large, tough chunk of duck and difficult to eat. We did not... More

Popular restaurant on busy street, one would think was a good option? Not for us. Poor greasy Entrecôte, tough lamb chops. So so service. Tables very close together. Vegetables not available! Why bother? Oh, and dead animal heads on the walls?

Finding dinner in Caen on a Sunday night can be daunting but this jewel was a real plus. Charming setting though African Safari trophy heads initially off-putting. 18€ three course plat had several options fitting our party of 7. Chèvre chaud and fish terrine both great starters. The salmon was particularly good and the Floating Island dessert to die for... More

Caen is a university town and this place was recommended by some local students who were at one of the student bar. Despite the fact we could have been the students grandparents we took their advice. It was good value, interesting 'plat du jour' and attentive staff. We had a great time talking to various other couples who were French... More

In this little square you cannot but help feel it is only tourists who eat here. Poor caen was virtually destroyed by the allies in the battle of Normandie with a great loss of civilian life but despite the castle complex being hit this square survived. The building is typical Normandie Columb age (think tudor timber framed as in Stratford... More

This restaurant was very disappointing with rather unfriendly staff, fillet steak that definitely wasn't fillet and very fatty lamb. Also a complete lack of vegetables. There are a dozen or more other restaurants very close by hopefully of better quality.
