After a horribly disappointing dinner the previous evening at the 2 star Michelin pub Hand & Flowers in Marlow, England, we arrived at le Jardin des Plumes for a 2 night stay & dinner at their 1 Michelin starred restaurant. What a lovely dinner. The contrast from the previous evening couldn't have been more different. Service was excellent - so... More

Food was excellent! The homemade bread and salted butter...outstanding. We were served a few amuse bouches to start, each very different and really nice. The wine suggested to us was amazing...Crozes Hermitage! We had the lamb stuffed with quinoa and the osso bucco. Both perfectly cooked with excellent flavor combinations. We ended with the cheese platter, 3 cow's milk and... More

So we stopped in Giverney thinking we could see the town and Monet's gardens. Everything was closed for the season. So we stopped here for lunch -- we should have checked the menu... They served clams, rabbit, octopus, etc... set menu and very pricy. The one lady was very helpful and kind - the guy helping us was rushed, unhelpful,... More

Excellent restaurant, beautiful plates, very nice decoration, excellent service. We had a very very nice dinner. Starter main course desert. All excellent. Local fresh food. Original, not heavy, beautifully dressed. Appetizer, surprises between the different plates, very good homemade bread, every thing was great. And really the service was really nice. Simple, efficient, with staff who really Know about the... More

After a day at Monet's Garden we relaxed and then took a short walk to Le Jared for dinner. It was a little confusing exactly where to enter but we found our way in. It is located in a hotel and much of the staff are not English language proficient however they were friendly and since we were in France... More

I find that when a restaurant has a Michelin star, expectations of the experience are very high. This was the case with Le Jardin des Plumes. On a positive note, the set menu with 3 courses at 45 euros is extremely good value, and comes with 6 extra amuse-bouches. And coffee comes with extra petit-fours. The tuna tartare appetizer with... At last the sort of meal one comes to France for! Everything about this restaurant is first rate. The simple list of ingredients for each dish ('red prawn, watermelon, fig') gives no indication of the elaborate presentation or intensity of flavours of each dish when it appears. We ordered a la carte, and it was expensive--€204 for three courses and... More

Inventive, interesting, harmonious, perfectly presented and served. We went for the tasting menu and were not sorry. Servers did not speak English; thankfully the manager was able to reassure us that we would not find anything scary in our food (we had specific "please nots" including foie gras and brain)

I consider myself an adequate chef but I am afraid bland tastes here - the pork was poor with only the strong olives and feta to supplement the taste - desert of apricot tarte the pastry tasted burnt - careless Sorry I have eaten better at local cafes (and a lot cheaper). Poor service - asked 3 times if we... More

Always very happy with our visits, evenings or lunches, friends or family. We go there 2 or 3 times each year. Great service, very creative dishes and tasteful art deco setting.
