Had a very enjoyable meal here in this small restaurant close to the heart of the historic city. Very helpful and professional service.Local dishes well presented and tasty. Good wine selection. Slightly lacks atmosphere but the quality of the meal makes up for it.

First - you need to book. Secondly, it is worth doing so. From start to finish, inventive, delicious cuisine, portions exactly the right size. The sort of food where you ask yourself, "How did they do that?" Friendly head waiter (the chef's husband), Good wine list. An evening to remember. Just try to be there when beetroot sorbet is one... Tucked away a few streets from the rather overblown Jeanne D'Arc Square with its more synthesized restaurants is this charming little restaurant where service is impeccable. The food is also varied, delicious and well-presented. The maitre d is solicitous and informed, making things run smoothly. The menus are varied, offering fairly good value for money. Our steamed guinea fowl in... More

This cozy seemingly family run restaurant offers wonderful, elegantly presented regional cuisine. The intimate setting, attentive service, delicious dishes make this an "off of the beaten path" destination. Highly recommended!

Some poor misguided soul (we’re all looking at you ‘Anthony H’) called this a hidden gem. That, I assume, is the same kind of lazy jargonese that estate agents use for ‘luxury’ flats or a ‘bijoux’ cottage: believe me, none of the above are either luxury, bijoux or a gem. As far as I’m concerned La Marmite is run by... More

With a name like La Marmite most English people might not expect much but this small unpretentious restaurant served excellent food with excellent friendly and helpful service at a price which compared favourably with some other restaurants serving less impressive food in grander surroundings.

I was often told as a child that good things come in small packages and this fits the description very well. It is a small family run affair and so they tend to turn away people when they have had enough for the night. Those lucky enough to get a table will be happy, so avoid disappointment and book or... We found this small restaurant by accident. The owner was friendly and helpful especially with the choice of wine. The food was excellent and the number of apparently well-satisfied French people who were there must say something. We found it to be a little over-priced but then it was a city-centre restaurant in summer.

La Marmite is a fabulous little french restaurant. An absolutely beautiful menu and a very nice wine list. The service was excellent. Sea bass was superb.
