This place provides excellent food for very reasonable money. It also provides a lovely atmoshpere and friendly efficient service. Nice touch at the end of the meal was free marshmallows and a tot of the local house liqueur. We ate midweek on a cool March evening and the place was full. Bookings therefore are a must.

Everytime when we are in Le Mans area, we have to visit this restaurant. All of the meals what we tastes were amazing, the service is very kind and we always wish if our stomach would be a bit bigger. :-) Neccessary to book in advance, usually it is full!

Highly recommended. Food is fantastic, waiters are friendly and professional, prices are moderate. Tip: even for lunch it is better to have a reservation, just stop by around 11 am and give your name. This place is very popular among locals, so there could be a problem if you'll just come, say at 1 pm.

Excellent food. Our waitress explained in perfect English some of the dishes which we hadn't discovered yet. And graciously taught my non French speaking boyfriend a few cool phrases. Suggest in winter getting a table upstairs as downstairs (which is where we were as place was heaving ) was rather cold every time the door opened. A nice touch -... More

While I have had finer meals in more glamorous locations, I have to say that our meal here represented excellent value for money with good choices on the menu, prompt service and pretty good quality. For travellers on a modest budget it represents good value.

Took our French friends her for Lunch, as a "Thank You" for their hospitality. Service and food are very good and the building is delightful...everything you'd expect in an ancient city. Range of menus is enough to tempt anyone, prices are reasonable and wine list is....hey, this is France....the wine list is very good without needing a mortgage. Quirky little... More

Had the Beef Brochettes, or Kebabs as we know them, superb rare beef that melted in the mouth and not a hint of blood on the plate, wow! It was accompanied with a mushroom infused mashed potato which was different and spectacularly good, One of the best meals we have eaten in years, We finished with a fruit topped panacotta... More

We stopped here for lunch on a very hot day. We were shown to a table on the third floor, but the open windows at that level made up for the stairs with a comfortable flow of air. We both opted for salads, thinking to "save ourselves" for our dinner, but the salads were enormous - and delicious. We gave... More

We actually made two visits here - for lunch on Friday and then for dinner the next day. Lunch was far better, in terms of value for money and in terms of quality of the food. We had a set menu of three courses for lunch, very good value, and we both had the roasted loin of cod for our... More
