We have visited this restaurant for its unique setting. It was an unforgetable experience for us to dine inside a cave! Our wine order included Rose De Loire PT Clocher & Sauvignon Guy Allion Terre; both very light in texture as well as the restaurant's special: The fouee. Not really impressed by its taste. Our attending waiter was tired, slow and... More

Interesting to read the reviews of others after you have been to a restaurant. La Table des Fouees seems to have some very disparate reviews. For what it's worth,we had a fabulous lunch there. We sat outside as it was a glorious day - despite the incredible appeal of the Cave setting indoors. We had great attention from the proprietor... More

The location is absolutely fantastic, inside the caves. Better bring something warm along. Wine at 4 € per glass was Chateau Vinegar, escargots were not what they are supposed to be and the goat's cheese was drowning in bread and lettuce. More of a stop for busloads of tourists. Obviously, this place has a lot more potential.

The cavern setting is unique and impressive. However the food was embarrassingly substandard. I ordered Filet au Colin with chorizo sauce; expecting hake or pollack however I was presented with an overcooked salmon fillet and no sauce whatsoever. The fish was served with a very dry jacket potato wrapped in tinfoil and three pieces of lettuce - reminiscent of a... More

Peasant/ regional food based on eating lots of fouees (little pita type rolls). Gezziers, beans, salad, mushrooms, rilletes, cheese, steak, boudin etc. very filling, very nice. All based in cool caves. Excellent service and good value for money; a unique experience.

Chanced upon this place on a hot hot day and the cool limestone setting saved the hour as did the fantastic french set menus. Rustic for sure but absolutely delicious and the cool restaurant allowed us to savour the rich and delicious foods that can be so satisfying in rural France: snails, pate, garlic, boudin noir, gezzier incredible mushrooms and... Do not go there if one of you is vegetarian!!! The waitress was very nice but the manager, or chef, or whoever it was who came out of the kitchen was very, very rude to my poor vegetarian sister, even though everyone else in the group ate meat. Yes, it's medieval food, it has meat, but 1- they were already... More

The fouees are baked in the old bread oven and they are very tasty. But the menus consist of basic local food, with plenty of oven baked bread. Perfect winter warming food. Great atmosphere.

We were looking for a good place to eat with our 3 kids (and the dog) at the last minute. We found this place to be great. Very friendly owners, enthusiastic service in an original setting. The food was homemade, delicious and abundant. they bake their own "fouee" (a light bread) in a stone oven and serve it warm. We... More
