Great place for a warm homely meal. We were in Avignon for a a few hours and came across this place. Out of the tourist main areas and the service and food was great. The burger was very moist and tender with stacks of flavour....While The special of the day (salmon) was huge and by all reports from my wife, delicious. The service was so friendly and welcoming particularly during these COVID times. Worth the visit.More

Very friendly and welcoming place for lunch. We had burgers, but they also do salads. Specials of the day are very tasty (we were given a sample). Service excellent. House wine very acceptable. Good value. Slightly hidden from tourists, but very central. What more can...I say?More

I had a very tasty lunch at an extremely low price. An excellent steak sandwich and frites with a glass of wine for only €8.50. But what really made this place great was the warmth of the staff. When I told my waitress that I...could speak French (but only a little), she was very patient with me and extremely kind. Her English was far better than my French, but she let me try to speak and understand her with a smile on her face. Just a wonderful atmosphere and great food.More

Cosy little place for a lunch with the family. We happened to be there during a heat spell but they had misters and fans which made it ok.

We had very tasty marinated chicken paninis with fries. There was outdoor seating. They are open for lunch. The service was pleasant and speedy. Of note was the bathroom which was cleaner than I had come to expect in a tourist restaurant in tourist town.

One problem with France is that you cannot get a decent meal between 2 and 7pm. We missed the lunch window and ended up here. Big mistake. I have no idea how they are #7 of restaurants in Avignon; unbelievable. Basically gas station food, perhaps...a little worse. All they had was paninis with cheese and tomato, which came out unbelievably bland and absolutely nothing besides the carb/grease panini. Worst meal by far in our 2 weeks here.More

We spent a long time to try and find somewhere for lunch in Avignon and were not disappointed with La Sou' Pape. It was a lovely little cafe near the cathedral. We were lucky to have a French speaker with us though as the menu...and all the staff spoke limited English. Worth a visit if you are feeling peckish whilst sightseeing in the city.More
